It is my first pregnancy. My first appointment there, they do not allow husbands or spouses into the room with you. It felt like I was the sole parent, which was disheartening to my husband. He didn't get to hear the heartbeat first time with me or anything. The Doctor herself was kind enough, but I didn't appreciate that. I waited over an hour to get in for my appointment time as well.

My mother-in-law consulted with Dr. Dominique for a concern, and we found her to be exceptionally professional, caring, and thoughtful. She was calm, explained everything thoroughly, took the time to answer all our questions, and did not rush the appointment. Although my mother-in-law usually feels anxious around doctors, Dr. Dominique’s demeanor put her at ease, making it easier for her to discuss her issue.

Dr St Cyr is very thorough with every pregnancy and patient she sees. I had her for my first and second baby and she was absolutely amazing every time I saw her ! Despite her extremely busy schedule, she is an absolute gem of a doctor and I couldn't recommend her enough! Her way of listening to patient concern and keeping up with high risk patients' needs are phenomenal. We are lucky to have such a great Doctor, and her secretary Merna is very helpful, friendly and accommodating! They both work very hard to accomplish all that they do, couldn't have asked for a better OB/GYN team. Thanks ladies!

I was referred to Dr. St. Cyr for my pregnancy. 43 years old with PCOS. I was told by my GP, I had a very small chance of getting pregnant. I was considered high risk for my age, and at the time I started seeing Dr. St. Cyr. My boyfriend (the father), came to the first appointment and was told he couldn't come into the room because of COVID (2023), even though we all wore masks, she stated she wanted to minimize any potential for germs. Outside of asking if I could record the baby's heartbeat, he never got the chance to hear it otherwise. We had to drive from Cornwall for every appointment, but because he couldn't come into the room, I often came up alone. It had been determined that I had no reason keeping me from a natural childbirth but that I would be induced a week before my due original due date which was March 26.

I saw Dr. St. Cyr every week for the last month and with every appointment she would take my blood pressure, and weight and check the heartbeat. Never any issues.

I had to go to Winchester the night before my induction, so they could insert a balloon to get everything started. My boyfriend and I went up, and just as I was getting a gown on, and they were bringing in everything they needed for the procedure, one of the nurses asked me how tall I was. I advised them I was 5'1" and the next thing I know they're handing me the phone with Dr. St Cyr on the end telling me how sorry she is but she won't be able to induce me at Winchester Hospital as my BMI was over their threshold. So she ended up referring me to the Ottawa Civic..which is another ridiculous story.

The weight I was when I went to see her didn't change until about the 8 month mark, I did not gain weight over night. She never stated she wouldn't be able to carry through with the birth due to my weight. I did not develop any other health issues during my pregnancy, so other than my age and my weight there shouldn't have been any issues and none were ever brought up to me along the way.

Total waste of time getting used to one doctor just to be handed off to other people I didn't know with nothing more than "I'm sorry". Am I the only woman who was overweight to give birth? Should she not have known what their BMI threshold was? Certainly been an OB for many years, she should have known if that was a possibility and not have waited until the night before my induction to tell me she couldn't do it due to the hospital's policy.

Totally incompetent and unprofessional in how she handled my pregnancy.

I would never recommend her to anyone.

Not to mention when I advised her I was coming to the end of my paid days off from work (end of year, I had asked if we could push an appointment until after Christmas. ..which was only at 3 weeks, instead of 2. She advised me "Having a baby is expensive, there are a lot of expenses - it's not cheap". She took it as I couldn't afford a day off without pay, I'm guessing. I felt belittled and made to feel like she was insinuating I couldn't afford to have a baby. I wonder if she tells ALL her patients the same thing.

My experience with the Ottawa General to have my son was not great but I'd stil go there before ever having her deliver my baby!!

She was rude, short, and it was just an overall bad experience especially as a first time mother.

My fiancé and I was excited for this appointment to meet our OB and to ask some questions (I had 5 total). After waiting an hour after our scheduled appointment time she refused my fiancé to come in with me (and the whole reason he came was so he could meet the person delivering our baby).
Didn't introduce herself so I wasnt sure if I was talking with a nurse prior to getting seen by the doctor (thats how it has been for all my appointments at my family docotrs office) or if I was talking with the actually doctor that was going to deliver my baby. She was not happy that I asked that and from there the appointment got worse and worse. Felt like she was gaslighting me in some personal decisions I had made for the baby that didn't go with the standard "hospital policy". When trying to ask the questions i had perpared for our first visit she refused to answer stating "I'm not here to answer your questions I'm here only to determine the babies health". And that was after only asking one question.
From there I knew there was no way I would feel comfortable with her in the room with me while I was going through the hardship of birth.
I'm highly considering switching hospitals so I don't have a chance of having her as an on call OB

Dr St Cyr recently delivered my baby and she was absolutely amazing. Professional and personable from start to finish. I knew with her care my daughter and I would have a safe delivery and that’s exactly what happened. Her medical training and own experience makes her a great OB.

Dr. Saint Cyr is a wonderful doctor! She’s delivered all three of my babies and there has never been and issues. Always enjoy chatting with her during appointments, she kept things so calm and stress free which was always nice. Her secretary Myrna is also lovely. If you have any issues with your appointment being late just keep in mind that is it because the doctor actually shows up to deliver her own patients babies.
