These folks have been around for over 55 years and what an incredible icon of Toronto history they are. I used to walk past this place as a kid something possessed me to finally walk in during the middle of the heat wave. I could never have imagined the kind of treasure trove it could be. Do not miss the upstairs where you can dig through their archive of old designs. It was a million degrees up there but I grabbed a sleek 80s deadstock bladerunner-esque lambskin jacket for $50. Their custom work is where it’s at as well. I grabbed some of their vintage pieces from upstairs that the very lovely proprietors, Maria and George helped me size up (I have a very awkward mid-sized apple shaped body that does not typically work with regular patterns) and they are in the process of custom producing lamb skin pieces for me for way less than I would be paying for faux leather pieces manufactured abroad. Shopping here not only means supporting a legacy Canadian business, but an absolute staple in Toronto’s retail scene. Let’s keep them in business for decades to come!

These guys are the real deal. I brought in a jacket that is 30+ years old to fix sections of the interior lining and the interior pocket. They exceeded my expectations.

They took the time to understand what I was looking to do, the craftsmanship is top notch and the price reasonable for both fixes. They also managed to find a perfect match to the lining (a rather uncommon pastel pink). It wasn’t until after I’d left that I noticed they also made some structural reinforcements to other areas of the jacket, at no additional charge. I’m sure that this will help extend the life of the jacket that much more.

I cannot recommend their services enough. I will be back in the future.

Penelope and her staff are top notch, personable, professional, accountable, accommodating, honest, and down-to-earth - qualities that are in short supply these days with corporate retailers. I had a clasp that broke off my hand wallet. Penelope had me go to a local leather & sewing supply store in the neighborhood to find a clasp that would be a suitable substitute. She graciously allowed me to park in her lot while I sourced the replacement hardware. Once I found the replacement hardware, it took less than a minute, and I was on my way! I also had a belt that needed shortening; however, Penelope suggested that I check with a shoe repair shop first, since my belt was of a certain style that she did not want to change if I wanted to retain it, as shoe repair shops have a different type of machine that can sew through the type of stitching that is on my belt. Love her honesty and opinion! Overall, I was treated with courtesy and respect. A very positive experience! It's also a family-owned business - 50 years(!!), and I feel great that I was able to give her my business. Also, if you're in the market for just about anything leather, etc., you must check this place out!! If I had more time and money, I would have scooped up a few items there! Thank you for the great service!!
