I cannot express enough gratitude for Dr. Nick Latham and the entire Emergency Room team at Bluewater Health Sarnia. I had the unfortunate experience of going through a natural miscarriage, and during this incredibly difficult time, Dr. Latham’s kindness, empathy, and exceptional care made all the difference.

I was treated by him twice within a span of five days, and I feel truly blessed to have been under his care both times. From my very first visit, he made me feel seen, heard, and cared for in a way that I never expected in an ER setting. His compassionate approach, calm demeanor, and ability to explain everything with such patience and understanding helped me navigate the most painful experience of my life. He took the time to perform the ultrasound himself, gently walking me through the heartbreaking news of my miscarriage while ensuring that I felt emotionally supported and medically informed every step of the way.

What truly sets Dr. Latham apart is his extraordinary compassion and the way he went beyond his role as an ER doctor. I don’t have any family members here with me, nor do I have a family doctor to turn to for ongoing care. But in those moments of uncertainty, fear, and loss, Dr. Nick Latham didn’t just treat me as a patient—he treated me like family. He provided both medical and emotional support, ensuring I wasn’t alone in this journey. He took the extra time to guide me, offering advice as a family doctor would, despite the fact that he was handling numerous other patients in the ER at the same time. His ability to balance urgency, professionalism, and genuine care is something I will never forget.

I was fortunate enough to see him again on my second ER visit, and once again, his level of care was nothing short of extraordinary. He conducted all the necessary tests, reassured me through every step of the process, and even went the extra mile to distract me when they had to draw blood, knowing how terrified I am of needles. His gentle approach, words of reassurance, and unwavering patience gave me the strength to process my loss with dignity and comfort. He didn’t just treat my medical condition—he treated me as a person, with deep care and empathy, making sure I wasn’t alone in this journey.

In addition to Dr. Latham, I want to extend my deepest appreciation to the ER duty nurse and the entire ER team in the Green Zone morning shift on March 5, 2025, and March 11, 2025. The kindness and attentiveness of the nursing staff made me feel safe, comforted, and genuinely cared for during my time in the ER. Every person I encountered showed true professionalism, warmth, and humanity, reminding me that I was in the best hands possible.

I will forever be grateful to Dr. Nick Latham and the ER team at Bluewater Health Sarnia. Their compassion, empathy, and dedication to patient care go beyond words, and I consider myself incredibly lucky to have been treated by such an outstanding medical professional. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for not only helping me heal physically but also for helping me find strength during an incredibly difficult time. Your kindness and care will never be forgotten.

Instead of calling us patients on the PA system they yell out “now serving next customer”. That’s exactly what we are and this is a business. 5+ hr wait time and poor communication skills then when you finally get in they again make you wait an hour or two. Pregnant wife 9 weeks kept going back and forth and tests and more tests and mind you my wife is Anemic it’s a high risk pregnancy as is without the million blood samples they took finally went to London and found out our baby has been dead since week 6 and we had a miscarriage. Horrible Hospital !

It was an incredibly distressing experience. Due to the negligence of Bluewater Health's emergency department, we tragically lost our 32-year-old friend, a new mother to a 12-day-old baby boy. She began experiencing severe headaches caused by extremely high blood pressure, measuring between 180 to 200 on the 6th day after giving birth. She visited the emergency room four times, but they did not take her condition seriously and only provided low-dose medication before sending her home. It was only when she suffered a brain stroke that they transferred her to the hospital in London, Ontario, where she was declared brain dead, and we lost her on Tuesday, October 3rd. This ordeal was incredibly frustrating, and it highlights serious issues with the emergency department's quality of care, including understaffing and insufficient support for patients.

Bluewater Emergency Room staff underscored the urgency and need for timely and effective treatment that cost a new mother's life.

My friend, who had a normal pregnancy, developed severe headaches due to high blood pressure after giving birth. She visited the ER twice but was sent home with routine medications, despite her symptoms worsening.

Tragically, her condition escalated, leading to paralysis. On her third visit, the ER room transferred her to London-ON, but it was too late. She passed away due to brain hemorrhage, leaving the child without her mother.

Horrible negligence and incompetence of the health care staff of the hospital. A 32 year old friend of mine delivered a baby boy and she complained about severe headache and she was given normal medication and discharged after her delivery. On the next day they found something serious in her brain and was taken to london for further treatment where during her journey to London she died leaving just few days old baby boy behind her….
