I lived in Colchester county since 1993, I have witnessed such an improvement over the years at this hospital. I hear on the news of the horror stories from the other provinces, there is no comparison, the staff in our Health Center go out of their way to make our visits there as short and comfortable as possible, I had 4 different appointments this week alone and I spent at most 20 minutes in the hospital at any time. I think the people in Truro are truly blessed. Of course there are times when there's an overflow of cases sitting in Emerge, but that is to be expected, after all we only have so many nurses, technicians and doctors in the area and they need time off like anybody else. I want to thank all the staff that work in that facility.

We were visiting Truro from Ontario when my wife needed to see a doctor. It was Sunday evening, no walk in clinics open at the time. We went to emergency triage at this hospital. We have heard many bad news report of the bad health care in Nova Scotia. We waited 5 minutes to get into the triage, then another 5 minutes for registration, then 5 minutes to see a doctor. All members of the staff were unbelievable efficient and very friendly. At all stops of the process, we were treated professionally and felt a sense of caring. Thank you to the staff at Colchester East Hants Health Centre.

Waited from 10pm-5am in waiting room, then waited another 5+ hours before being seen by a doctor. Triage told us that it was a bladder infection 3 hours before being called in but the doctor takes 6/7 hours to write a prescription for antibiotics. Terribly ran hospital. With less than superb doctors. Nurses also kept telling us “the doctor will get to you eventually…. Hopefully”.

Completely unnacceptable Blood Collection setup I have an appointment at 7 I'm there by 645 registered by 655 and here it is 810 and I haven't been drawn and I'm 5 people away from getting in and there's a boat load of people in the area waiting to be taken in.

Horrible service. Dr's don't care or listen. It's 3:15 pm and I came into emergency at 10:30. I haven't eaten all day and I'm exhausted. Never left a hospital less healthy than when I went in but today will change that. If you have an option DO NOT GO HERE.

The nursing staff is A1. The speed of service is unfortunately slow due to lack of available staff. The wait times in emerg are horribly slow. Come with charger, something to amuse yourself and food as the coffee shop and cafeteria have extremely limited open times and the vending machines while I was here wouldn't read my debit card or only accepted cash.

Been waiting in the triage for about 4+ hours now, after having an x-ray for my lungs. Sure not a big deal but still 4+ hours and all I want is my diagnosis.

Wait times as per usual were horrible but being lied to about being the next person in for a room after explaining how severe the symptoms are just to watch the newest 8 people who just got in get a room. The room that was given was poor at best with the bed having dog hair, mystery slime and whatever else was on it but also to be told that my symptoms are because I am stressed while having had been given no proper tests or anything run on me after waiting 2 hours for them(with a known heart issue) Over all not impressed and this is so far a regular thing that occurs a lot of the time that or doctors throwing sharpies across rooms in front of family and partner alike the ER teams are just awful besides the few good nurses who do their job well, the one star is for them and them alone.
