I chose this supplier because I wanted to support local and boy am I glad I did! The staff and owners are superb. Thank you for all your help Stew and Michael in getting my custom wheelchair fitted to my every need. I was able to get a quick response when my wheel needed tightening and had someone to my house the next day. What FANTASTIC service they all provide.
I would highly recommend going in person or even talking with someone on the phone for all your mobility needs, whether you are submitting through ADP or out of pocket. I often choose to go in person to the store as it is completely wheelchair accessible and I can see the equipment first hand. I have gone to the other shops but confidently know that this is the best in Ottawa!

Purchased my daughter's chair from them and a foot pedal broke, from the initial contact with reception, to Jack who works in repairs then to John who completed the work, all staff were awesome and worked quickly to get the chair fixed! Kudos to all for the great service!! Highly recommend them!!

There isn’t anywhere better to get mobility help. Very professional, lots of great advice and practical information. Brad was very helpful and I really appreciated all his help with my new chair.

I purchased a walker under the Assisted Devices Program and was asked to pay for it in full until my request was approved at which time I would be refunded for the amount paid by the government. I understood from previous research and friends who received such equipment under the same program that I would be charged only $82.00 for the walker when all was said and done. However, when I received the refund it was less than expected. On contacting CONVAL-Aid, they said that they are charging me an additional $125 administration fee. At no time was I informed of this extra charge and it was not itemized on the invoice. On contacting them they refused to refund me the administrative fee but offered a full refund if I was not happy. However, on investigating further, I learned that since the purchase has already been approved by the ADP program and that I’ll not be able to reapply to the program again. In other words, I am stuck with paying the $125. I suggest you avoid this company as others do not make you pay this charge. I find their approach was dishonest.

Accessibility being a daily issue for my husband, we have now for years used the services of Conval-aid on Lancaster Road in Ottawa. From accessible utensils to walkers, from wheelchairs to house ramps for our home, they have it all. Every purchase is explained by a knowledgeable employee, even by the owner who blends in as an employee. Liftability Inc., their automotive adaption department, has been instrumental in providing us a Curb Slider (an automated arm that lifts and rotates the chair, taking up minimal space in the back of our van) and with numerous adaptors which allow us to travel with the wheelchairs and or scooters without any effort on my part. The services over the years have changed from 4 stars to 5 stars +++

Would highly recommend Conval-Aid! If you’re looking for personalized, attentive service this is the company that will be there for you. Stuart’s help with finding the right mobility aid for my elderly father was invaluable, I’m not sure how I would have been able to navigate this journey on my own. He patiently listened to my father’s concerns, addressed them immediately and answered all his questions. This added kindness didn’t go unnoticed by me and I am very appreciative. When I requested a ramp be installed to his outdoor patio, Stuart took the time to ensure it fitted correctly. Now my dad can go outside and enjoy his patio.

Excellent customer service at the Ottawa Lancaster Rd. have gone in looking for advise on my Sister’s disability needs. Have been served by Jacques very knowledgeable knows his products and very pleasant. I no longer shop at OMS they might have the monopoly here in Ottawa but not the knowledgeable staff.
