Start with the positive. The service was professional and curteous. Now the negative. When I booked my appointment online, I was asked for my OHIP card which I provided. I then received a call the day before my appointment to remind me to make sure I brought my OHIP card. I presented to my appointment, they verified my OHIP card and then a lady called me in. I have no idea if she was a nurse, a nurse practitioner, a technician or a physician, they did not introduce themselves. They asked me where I was going. I provided the information and they asked me where this place was. For specialists in travel, I would have expected them to know where this was. I explained the location where I was going. They then proceeded to do a quick search on the internet (which I had already done myself) to tell me exactly what I already knew. We then talked about traveller's diarrhea for which she suggested a prescription for a medication to treat it if it occured. And that was it. I left. Maybe 15 minutes later, I received a call from the receptionist, I think, asking me where I was as I had not paid the consultation fee. I asked what fee, you asked for my OHIP card. She informed me that OHIP does not pay for this consultation. She said the basic fee is usually $85 but mine had been reduced to $50 because they did not do much for me (well, really nothing). I said, no where is it written on their website or when we book the appointment that there is a fee for the consultation, but they do specifically ask for the OHIP number (excuse me for thinking that it was an OHIP covered appointment). The receptionist said she was surprised that it was no where on the website but that it had to be paid. I told her, if I had known, I would not have booked an appointment. I got nothing out of this appointment that I did not already know. I am not against the doctor/clinic getting paid for their services, but it should be clearly stated that there is a fee for the consultation which is not covered by OHIP. I only booked an appointment on the advice of my medical clinic. To make matters more confusing, the travel clinic is in the same office as the medical clinic and the walk-in clinic (all OHIP covered services) and a pharmacy.

Clinic is terrible. Zero follow up. Clients shouldn’t be calling your office to get second and third doses.

“Consultation” is literally the retired doctor’s side hustle of googling things in front of you and telling you what you already know about basic diseases and immunizations. Go elsewhere. Giant waste of time and energy (and money).

I went to this clinic in order to get advice on vaccination requirements for the countries we were visiting on a cruise. The nurse advised that we didn't require any specific vaccinations, however should get a polio shot as the Government of Canada was pushing this again. We did. A week later, we were advised by our cruise company that one of the countries we were going to visit required a Yellow Fever vaccination. We went back to the clinic to get this shot.

The nurse gave me the shot, which stung very badly. Two days later I could not manage the pain in my arm, which was seizing and locking up. I ended up in Emergency, and was told that the reaction I was having did not appear to be with the Yellow Fever vaccination but with the actual shot itself. The ER doctor, as well as my own physician, suggested taking a considerable amount of ibuprofen as well as tylenol to try and reduce the inflammation and the pain. I spent my entire cruise in off and on pain with my arm, and medicated for most of it.

Now I am six weeks later, and I still have pain in my arm. The physician tells me that the nurse likely did not inject in the appropriate spot and may have either hit, or come very close to a nerve, which now, in all likelihood has adhesion to it from scar tissue. (Which is causing the off and on pain based on certain movements).

I wrote to this clinic and advised them of all the issues I was having, and no one has ever called me back, or even suggested anything. I will never get a shot from that clinic again. I don't wish anyone have to spend their vacation in pain due to improper shot location.

Staff was nice and efficient. Wait time was minimal. Vaccinations required were all in stock. The doctor took the time to carefully explain the risks of my trip, the preventative measures required, and the various information required about my vaccinations.
