It took a solid year to get an appointment from my Drs. referral while in the mean time suffering with tinnitus. Had my appointment and explained my condition and that it was a result of nihl. Prescribed over the counter serotonin and mentioned that there was a therapy available in Toronto. He agreed to forward his report to WSIB as this is indeed a work related injury and recorded my claim number. That was Oct 2024. To date ,and in excess of a year later,no report was ever sent to WSIB. Continual and repeat monthly inquiries have had no effect or influence to persuade his office from doing so. His clerks are consistent with their dealings with patients and lack the personalities you might expect from someone who deals with the public on a daily basis. Abrupt and borderline rude in defending the Drs pathetic behavior,that is ,when the office is open and they actually answer the phone. 2 years of misery and and to date Oct 2025,still nothing. St Thomas deserves better considering he gets paid well to do his job.
I gave 1 star because I couldn't give less.
A sad and pathetic experience that you may wish to avoid by going elsewhere and actually getting treatment for your condition.
Don't waste your valuable time and effort with the anticipation of a resolve as you will simply not get it. This guy is better suited to write childrens story books and approaches his profession as if he is the main character in his own little book.
One of the worst examples of how our health system is being manipulated.
However unlike his patients,I'm certain he sleeps well at night.

Dr Hanson was nice enough; a little eccentric, but he got me into his office quite quickly after a referral from STEGH. He referred me on to the ENT at UH, who also saw me very quickly. My complaint is with the desk ladies. I called to ask if an MRI had been put through, like it had been mentioned to me, and the lady on the phone was NOT helpful and the attitude was not needed. She said ‘if he said he was going to do it, then he probably did it. I don’t have access to your chart in such a short time period.’ I asked if they could look it up and call me back another day, and essentially she said no, that if dr Hanson said he’d do it, then it was probably done. That word PROBABLY really gets to me. This is my hearing that is on the line and all I wanted to know is that the referral was put in. I know it can take ages to get an appointment, but the attitude and the unwillingness to help has led to me leave this review.

When you make an appointment you shouldn’t be waiting 1hr+ but that is in fact what happened, better Time management skills are needed here if people are waiting that long for an appointment. I do understand things happen, due to being under staffed, system problems etc.,
but instead of having a removed attitude you could have communicated that. A little communication goes a long way people are stressed out because people have kids, pets jobs responsibilities to get to they don’t have 1hr++ to be waiting. Next time maybe mention to your patients that the wait is gonna be an hour or more for expectation management!! I want to say this was a bad day but from the reviews your establishment just needs to do better. Doctor was nice tho!

Dr. Hanson and his team are excellent, kind, and thorough. While the office sometimes runs behind schedule, it's because the clinic is busy and the doc takes time to answer questions and explain procedures and risk properly. I find that kind of attention rare these days and truely appreciate it.

Take the other reviews with a grain of salt, the healthcare system is in a bad state, that shouldn't fall on the staff of the clinic or the specialists working there. They are people too. 👍🏼

....Where should I start? Oh....I know...every bad review is absolutely correct. I just saved an hour of typing. It's EXTREMELY hard to believe that THIS is our only choice.

they called me yesterday from Dr Wayne Hanson's office but i didn't answer because I was at work and they were closed when I got home, been waiting months for this referral. Called them back today and they said we call you once if you don't answer the referral is rejected and we don't see you, you have to start the referral process all over again with your doctor. What a joke, lady i spoke to was rude and clearly didn't like her job.

Edit: changing my review to 5 star. The initial contact went poorly but they have since been pretty good. Dr Hansen himself is great and his receptionist has gotten a lot better maybe was just a bad day that day.

Experience with Doctor was amazing!
However, the 2 secretaries that he has are irrespectful and definitely have some sort of discrimination and racism against latino people. They both yelled at my husband whe they were politely asked for the keys to get into the bathroom. They also did not call my daughter to get in to see the doctor on time, and other patients arrived after my daughter and were called right away.

They need to do some rearranging of appt times...maybe make the appt blocks longer. Waiting outside of the office (because the offi e is always full) is a terrible experience with a young child. Trying to keep them calm and occupied for at least an hour EVERYTIME is ridiculous. Yes the receptionist is rude as well.
