First encounter with Dr. Pearce was at emergency NGH. He was very thorough and got me feeling better in no time. While sitting in the secondary waiting room, you can see how the doctors and support staff are run off their feet.

My doctor isn't too bad and is usually helpful when I am allowed to see her. The receptionist on the other hand will never make me an appointment for anything. She wouldn't let me make an appointment for my kids chronic coughs, won't let me book at the walk in for pain and just sends us to the ER. She is part of why our ER departments are so crowded. She should not work with people as a receptionist if that is her answer to everything.

I hardly know where to begin, I agree as other commenters yes condescending.
Refused to schedule after 2 years of minor day surgery a follow up with specialist as he has refused as was unnecessary.
Went to ER and got necessary appointment with the specialist.
Had some stiff muscle issue Dr. Pearce prescribed me a strong anti inflammatory. Got a serious side effect, called the office, left detailed message, had serious stomach pain waited a couple of days, no response, then went to a walk in clinic and received a better tolerated drug.
I then received a nasty letter later saying his office would drop me as a client for not following his Rules.
As a senior in many instances a bone density is allowed annually.
Dr. Pearce on 3 occasions refused my request along with 2 medical specialists who had recommended to him that I receive the bone density test. Dr. Pearce also told me if I did not take a drug (pill) for bone health for 1 year he may then consider making the bone density appointment! Again went to walk in clinic and received the bone density appointment.
He went on to criticize the two medical specialists as being incompetent, and complacent and not following his notes.
Dr.Pearce went on to say he knew more about the bodies bones the these specialists?
Then came the berating part of the appointment saying, do you trust your dentist, do you trust your mechanic who do you trust!
Forgot to mention in the 6 or so appointments the went with me explaining my health concerns. He would immediately cut me off and give me his perspective,.When I tried to ask a question during his speech he would chastise me as " he was doing the talking!!
My only recourse now is I am filling a detailed report to The "Ontario College of Physicians and Surgeons".
PS: I was very concerned about his derogatory comments about the other medical professionals.

Just a very concerned senior.

This guy is a joke, I am not sure why he is a physician, completely useless. A retail store associate has more skills and compassion.

Dr. Pearce is a great family doctor! He keeps his appointments so I rarely have to wait more than ten minutes plus he's thorough and personable. No complaints whatesoever. The office is also nicely decorated, which is pleasant (though not necessary).

My husband had Dr. Pearce in ER at Norfolk General Hospital just this morning. He is forthright (which we greatly appreciate) and very helpful. We left feeling comfortable and happy with my husband's health concern and care provided. Thank you.

I know some people sing his praises but we haven't had the same experience. I'd give no stars if I could. With myself, as soon as he found out I was at a Methadone clinic before him, he treated me different. Even after I explained that I wasn't going there because of drugs, I was on pain medication when I moved here and didn't have a doctor. After having the hospital give me my meds but only if they lowered it every week, I found Water St Clinic. They switched me from Hydromorphone to Methadone for pain.
My adult daughter has Complex PTSD, Agoraphobia, Anxiety as well as a few more diagnosis. He didn't even read her diagnosis for almost 3 years and when she had a bit of a breakdown in his office he couldn't understand why. He doesn't believe Mental health issues qualify you for disability, told her in front of me that if you can make it to a doctor's appointment, you can make it to work! One of her diagnosis isn't helped with medication, she needs counseling, he sent her to a psychiatrist only to find out it was a one time appointment to get her on the right meds for her ADHD. She's on a controlled substance for her ADHD and I can't tell you how many times she's gone to the pharmacy only to find out there's no script there for her. Which is what happened today! Only to find out he's on vacation. So he forgot to send her script to the pharmacy, goes off on vacation and she's supposed to just suffer through it? I can't imagine how she will feel after not having her medication in her body.
If you're not complicated with health issues then go to Dr Pierce if you are, good luck! I left him and will never go back... If I can find a doctor for my daughter she'll be gone too.

Dr. Pearce is not a doctor to seek if you have any concerns with mental health. He has refused to get me a psychiatrist after being referred one by my licensed therapist after disclosing thoughts of suicide. Dr. Pearce is very much pushing of the medical views which is fair because he is a doctor, but it is 2021 and we have been trying to end the stigma around mental health for how long? This can start with people in a position of authority. While a patient with him and the history of mental health within my family and personal life, he put me on medication which made a decrease in my mental state(which is what the referral to the psychiatrist was implemented for) and after knowledge of this, he continued up doses or switched medication without any psychological evaluation. I have since switched doctors and gotten the help that I need. I am not the only patient that I have heard this concern with, just the only one willing to speak up about it.

During this pandemic I have heard of patients seeking a leave of absence due to job burn out, in which Dr. Pearce responded with a medication prescription rather than approving a week of leave to rest and recharge.

Other than the mental health aspect, Dr.Pearce will get you any medical exam or medication.
