New record of a 15 hour wait only to get 0 compassion from staff and was sent home with the wrong medication. This place demonstrated the most disgusting hospitality and ethics I have ever witnessed in my life. A woman sat there and pissed herself and they let her sit in it for 7 hours until another patient who looked to have a broken arm helped her change. Nobody came to check on us for 9 hours. No one offered blankets to those who were shivering or trying to sleep or pain meds to anyone who needed them. A woman’s oxygen tank ran out and she had to call her daughter in to come and help her because the nurses in the next room were ignoring her. I am completely horrified at the conditions of this place and I am lost for words. It’s shocking that this is acceptable. Definitely go absolutely anywhere else because these people do not want to help you.

We waited over 6 hours with a baby that is less than 1 year old who had fever of 39.8-40.5 Degrees over a 48 hour period. Baby was given tylenol and we were told to go sit back down and wait. Any time i had a concern or question about babies condition I was simply given shoulder shrugs by staff. They would check his temperature and tell me it was much lower than it actually was. I brought my own temp reader with me and noticed a substantial difference in what I was being told. Beyond shameful.

I spent many many hours in that facility and was made to throw up in a bag over and over again due to their lack of empathy. We were repeatedly told there were no rooms available however after throwing my guts up(which totally mortified me), my husband went to washroom and a little walk only to find many many rooms available. They were obviously not wanting to put people in them. I have a condition called TN (trigeminal neuralgia…aka The Suicide Disease). This is a horrifically painfully disease which requires regular meds…Lyrica (maxed), 75mg fentanyl patches changed every 2 days and dialaudid for frequent repeating breakthrough pain. The Dr on call at time …Dr Sharma (she was married to my previous Dr whom I left due to his shoddy treatment) She downgraded my condition and stated I’d be fine. My pain meds wouldn’t e affected from 2 days of violent vomiting. Terrible condition s. I could go on and on about horrors I’ve experienced and the tremendously LONG needless waits. This is a total disgrace!

I've had the misfortune to be at this Hospital on numerous times for Health Issues {Surgies & Testings} that I refer to it as my "Home away from Home". I've received the best of care by the Nurses/Doctors & all staff on every visit. The problem with Emergency Department is NOT the staff, but rather people using it as their own "Walk in Clinic." Doctor shortage for getting a "Family Doctor" is next to impossible due to high ratio of current patients resulting in not taking on any new patients. Our Health Care is suffering from overload. The COVID pandemic is running rampid, people are afraid of contracting the virus. It's sad that it's come to a lose lose situation. Nova Scotia was well known for having the Best Health Care System. Now all Health Care Workers are exhausted and Mental Health is taking its toll on them & our First Responders.

I've gone 3 times and each time I waited 12 hours and left each time. You have to be literally dying to be seen by a doctor.

The staff were kind, compassionate, caring and helpful. Long long long wait times. Like horrifically long wait times. But that is a problem with the system, not the staff.
