We had all of our windows and doors replaced by Eurostar. They were recommended by our condo corp. We dealt with a different person at each step, which was confusing. I recommend they have one point of contact. The sales experience was great, but we ran into challenges during and after installation.

During installation, we had to ask for more spray insulation and caulk a few times. Clean-up was okay, but some minor marks (including blood) were left on some walls/baseboards.

During the patio door install, they found significant rotting under the old door. The installers were very nice and tried to explain things to us, but they didn't speak English well, made communicating difficult. We had to call the owner and consult the condo's VP and maintenance person to ensure the rot was removed. Eurostar pulled together staff to make this happen on the same day. However, they didn't communicate with us until weeks later that this would be at an extra cost ($1400), despite the original contract saying there wouldn't be any further costs. They offered a discount given the unexpected costs. We wouldn't have had an issue with the charge, had it been disclosed and agreed to before the work was done.

Since the install, leaks on both sides of the patio door started, likely from the same source as the original rot. Although the leaks don't appear to be caused directly by the new door or Eurostars install, in consulting experts and doing investigative work, more should have been done to investigate the issue at the time of install, knowing the rot that existed. Eurostar mentioned that they went above and beyond and that their staff are not carpenters, but in our opinion, they shouldn't have done work if they are not qualified to do so. Since then, they've been back to discuss the leaks, to correctly level the door frame (the door was going off track and causing a draft), and to add caulk (note all under warranty but they wouldn't do so until we paid the extra charge).

We haven't had noticeable issues with any other windows or the front door.

On a side note, the government's energy rebate / loan program was one of the main reasons we decided to do the windows and doors this year, as it was ending and would cover some of the costs. The program requires you to have a pre and post assessment of your home's energy efficiency. We got the funding for the windows themselves, but somehow are energy efficiency overall got worse, leading to less financing. We can't be certain of the cause without further testing, but the windows and doors were the only major renovation we did between the assessments. The gap caused by the mislevelled door could've been one contributor.

All in all, I don't think Eurostar has bad intentions or that they aren't good installers, but the experience left us confused and frustrated.

Large Italian sliding door installed in 2017, had issue with handle 5.5 years later.

Owner David came out, had two experts diagnose the problem. Had the door fixed promptly. But what really impressed us was - like a great forensic scientist - David wanted to know what caused the issue.

Wonderful staff diagnosed and figured out in under 30 minutes. Total pros. Very impressed, and will be buying from EUROSTAR again, love this company.
