Waited over a month to get an appointment for my daughter, after I was finally seen they scheduled a follow up appointment for less then 2 weeks after. When it came time for the follow up appointment it was cancelled due to weather, when I reached back out to reschedule I was told they were unable to get me in for more than 6 weeks.

I had a similar situation with my son earlier in the year when they opened up his finger and caused an infection and refused to see him for a follow up and told me to go to emerge if I felt that it was that big of an issue. When at emerge we learned they shouldn’t have opened it up and made the problem worse.

I was refused to be seen or receive care here even though this is my “family doctor”. I had to resort to emerge after being told I would not be seen until my 8 week prenatal appointment regardless of my symptoms & abnormal bloodwork. I was told by receptionists that he made no comment on my results so I was most likely fine. ER eventually confirmed my bloodwork was far from normal. Despite all of my signs pointing to the worst case scenario and all of this information being sent to my doctor. No follow up was made. After weeks of neglect, it turned out to be exactly what I was afraid of and was internally bleeding and needed surgery by then. Thank god for emerge and the doctors there❤️ I will say the nurse practitioners at seaforth family health team are wonderful. It’s almost impossible to get any care past the receptionists though.

How do you get past the receptionist? If the symptoms are serious or if they are routine, they tell you to go to a walk-in clinic or the ER. If you ask to see a nurse, you are informed they are too busy. I'm wondering who exactly does get past these receptionists. Are they instructed by their employers to do this? I have a family physician, but I have been encouraged to go elsewhere the last 2 times I have attempted to see him in 3 years.

I see my family doctor here and have been refused care now twice in a row. I was hesitant to make my appointment today after my last experience, where I was told that they could not help me seek out mental health services.

I went in for my appointment today to an empty waiting room and office, but was refused to be seen and was talked down to by the receptionist. I was told that my family doctor was extremely booked, despite having an appointment, I was on time, and was asked to reschedule three weeks out.

I am now seeking a new family doctor and do not recommend their practice as it has been, personally, nothing but problems for me.

Waited on the phone this morning for a half hour not gettingto talk to anyone, couldn't wait any longer. Tried again after lunch said I was caller 13, couldn't wait that long. Tried again this afternoon, been on hold for 40 min. Was down to the next caller then got put back at caller 6.Last time I tried to book an appointment they said the wait time would be too long so they gave me an on the phone appointment only for the doctor to tell me he couldn't diagnose me over the phone. So much for health care.

I like my Dr. So there's that.

Nurse practitioner is just lovely and so knowledgeable.

I love Dr. Gavsie, he's nothing short of amazing!

However, having been on the waitlist for counselling for over a year - as someone with severe bipolar -- yeah really not patient centered.

Being a Healthcare provider in this community myself, the lack of concern for mental health really bothers me. Something should really be done, people are struggling, enough is enough!
