The good: the staff is very kind. The wait wasn’t bad at all. The two doctors that I saw took the time to discuss the issue.

The bad: if you need any testing, you need to go back in again to find out the results- I’m talking full on wait in queue, wait room, etc. I could see if it was a for a bigger issue but no, not the case. So yes, they are rather quick in comparison to other clinics, but when you have to do it twice, it’s long. They refused to give results over the phone or to just sent the prescription to the clinic. Absolutely wild.

I have been a patient at Leslieville Medical Centre since it first opened and have had the privilege of being under Dr. Cassam’s care for over 10 years. Dr. Cassam and her team consistently provide exceptional healthcare. She is always thorough in her assessments and takes the time to offer clear, detailed explanations whenever I have questions or concerns about my health.

After waiting 45 minutes to be seen, I was quickly dismissed by the doctor for my symptoms. Told that she doesn’t have a history with me and that she can’t help me anymore with a clear attitude in her voice. I felt that she was very unprofessional and had terrible bedside manner. If seeking medical help, I would go to a place with people who care.

I recently visited this clinic, and unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. After waiting 1 hour and 40 minutes in the waiting room, followed by another 25 minutes in the examination room, we finally saw the doctor. However, the encounter was far from professional.

The doctor seemed visibly frustrated and rushed, making it clear that they were unhappy with the clinic running late. When I tried to bring up another concern about my child, which I believed might be related to the main issue, I was abruptly told, “One problem at a time when you book here.” The tone was aggressive and dismissive, leaving me feeling uncomfortable and unheard.

Even worse, the doctor barely engaged with my child, didn’t examine her properly, and simply went through the motions while typing on the computer. At the end of the appointment, the doctor prescribed a medication but told us we needed to complete an additional home test, requiring a visit to a lab first. It was a Saturday, and all labs were closed, so this added unnecessary stress and delayed our ability to get the medication.

After wasting our entire morning, we ended up solving the problem ourselves and purchasing medication directly from the pharmacy. The whole experience left me feeling that our time and concerns were disregarded.

This clinic needs to address its scheduling practices to avoid long waits and ensure that doctors maintain professionalism and empathy, regardless of how busy their day has been. Patients deserve to feel listened to and cared for, not rushed through an appointment or made to feel like an inconvenience.

Follow-Up:
Thank you for your response. While I appreciate the explanation, it doesn’t address the core issue patients aren’t just upset about wait times, but about the lack of empathy and professionalism in care. Excuses about demand don’t justify dismissive attitudes or rushed interactions. A little kindness and respect would go a long way in making the wait worthwhile.

I cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Cassam. She has an exceptional ability to listen attentively and make patients feel heard.

Their expertise and thorough explanations reassured me that I was in the best possible hands. Dr. Cassam always takes the time to walk me through every step of the diagnosis and treatment plan, ensuring that I fully understood my options and felt confident in the care I was receiving.

What truly sets Dr. Cassam apart is their compassionate approach. She treats you not just as a patient but as a person, addressing both your physical and emotional well-being. It’s rare to find someone who combines such a high level of medical expertise with genuine kindness and empathy.

I would highly recommend Dr. Cassam to anyone seeking top-notch medical care. They are an extraordinary professional who truly goes above and beyond for their patients.

Last Friday I went to this clinic and the receptionist and the doctor were very unfriendly. A young man had a bad attitude. He just asked for advice from different patients and it took less than 5 minutes. It was very unprofessional. Then I went to another clinic and the diagnosis was the same as going to the emergency room.

Very disappointed in the receptionist. She wasn't welcoming. Very demeaning, unpleasant and unprofessional. Rudely ask to wear a mask. She said the sign was on the door and it clearly wasn't I ASKED WERE CAN I GET ONE AND SHE REPLIED RUDELY..SOMEWHERE OVER THERE. ... I did complied and upon my returnn while waiting to talk her. I decided to use the facilities and she question why I was using bathroom That was so inappropriate and violation of a human right. They advise ill get a virtual appointment by phone between 11am and 1p. It's 1;30pm and I'm still waiting

I really do not want to go to trouble of explaining my experience here. Seems like last comments making the situation clear. The lady doctor here is honestly heartless. They couldn’t care less about you. Wait time was about an hour which is not bad. But after an hour, you will sit down with a doctor who couldn’t care less about your condition. In the end you will be sent to somewhere else. They are not looking to help you, they just want to get your health card number and get rid of you. Go somewhere else, wait longer but at least you’ll get a not completely useless doctor.
