This shop sure knows what they are doing when it comes to anything diesel. I have been using Precision Diesel for lots of years now. Going on 9 years to be exact. I finally thought it was time to write a nice review that they respectively deserve. Way overdue. They have kept my 2014 LML Duramax running very healthy and fun to drive since I bought it. The very first visit was to install a FASS lift pump to keep the Bosch CP4 feed with lots of fuel so I could sleep better lol. Also we put a S&B intake on the truck to help it breathe cold air. My latest problem that occurred late summer was that I was getting a pressurized coolant bottle 😢. It was a classic case of a bad head gasket. This occurred regardless of meticulous maintenance over the years as well. So Richard and Matt’s mechanics in the shop knew exactly what to do. They gave me a few options for the build also. Using factory parts or to OEM + it and bulletproof it for many more years to come. I told them to bulletproof it 🤘. The heads got sent out to be inspected, the best of gaskets you can buy were used and also we went with the ARP head studs to clamp everything down. Since everything was torn down it was a great opportunity to change a few other things when in Rome. I had them do a Fleece Bosch CP3 conversion kit to not have any worries in the future about a glitter party in the fuel system. Piece of mind 100% and money well spent. At the same time a new GM water pump, thermostats X2, tensioner pulley, serpentine belt and glow plugs were installed. Last but not least was a new turbo, PPE up pipes and ceramic coated manifolds to let the new RDS 64MM Turbo whistle like no tomorrow 👌. I also had them install a Kryptonite ultimate front end kit on the truck along with their upper control arms and new FOX shocks. I am completely happy beyond my wildest dreams. It’s running absolutely fantastic and is one healthy unit that is OEM + and gonna run for many more years to come. Their knowledge and experience speaks for itself. I highly recommend these guys if you ever need some general maintenance performed or some hard engine surgery done. You will be in great hands and will have piece of mind knowing that they stand by there work. I arrived for my appointment and they took my pickup in straight away. They found the problem promptly.
They will definitely be my service provider in the future.

Over a period of three months post-delete, I went down a rabbit hole chasing a P0299 (underboost) code on a 2016 EcoDiesel. With no dedicated diesel shops nearby, Googling around led me to Precision Diesel, and I cold-called them, hoping I had missed something obvious during the delete.

Matt was very helpful over the next four or five calls. He was patient and informative every time, knowing I was doing the work myself to save money. Not once did he suggest I stop asking “silly” questions or just bring the truck in. He understood it was a 2.5-hour drive for me and helped as best he could over the phone.

I eventually took the truck to a local shop with some EcoDiesel experience. They mainly specialize in custom gas builds and a few Chevy deletes, so I don’t blame them for the conclusion they reached—that it was likely a cab-off turbo replacement.

So, faced with a $4,000–$6,000 turbo job and having already put about 30 hours of my own time into chasing gremlins, I figured the 2.5-hour drive (and a night in my friend’s camper) was worth it to let the pros sort it out.

I was very happy to see at least ten EcoDiesels in various states of repair—from flat-tired, rusted hulks to shiny, newer models—filling up the yard.

It took them just two hours to figure it out…

Wait for it…

It was a dirty MAF.

I had pulled and cleaned the MAF sensor myself—or so I thought. But I guess my instincts were right. After so much time running in circles over the P0299, I was deep in the weeds and just needed a professional. And boy, did I get one.

Matt and his crew are caring, professional, and absolute gunslingers in the diesel repair world. Just look at the reviews—I’ve never seen this many that go on for paragraphs.

Precision Diesel is the ONLY shop that will ever touch this truck again.

I must say: I collect classic cars, one of which was a Hummer H1, on my last visit to Ottawa my H1 didn’t want to start, I had to take it to precious Diesel, and these guys started to work on it right away when they knew I was only a visitor was passing by Ottawa, it took them about 5hrs to put my H1 back on the road, I met the team who worked on my H1, and truly speaking these guys are super honest and they work from a good heart, I spoke to the guy who was working on my truck and he was a sweet and explained everything, and BTW they gave me the option to put temporarily switch to start my truck and get to my own Mechanic in Montreal, or to continue to find me the solution which they did, owning a classic cars means you are in&out of many garages, these guys charged my so very little for what I thought it would be over $1k and more, I know an honest mechanic when I see one and I saw a few at this garage, btw at the hotel where I stayed I asked the taxi drivers and the towing guy and others who knew this garage and strongly recommend it,
