I decided to update my review from 4 stars to 5 stars. They really go above and beyond!

I cannot express how grateful I am for the services provided by Couples Corner Counselling clinic! After 20 years of marriage, my husband and I found ourselves facing challenges that we weren't sure how to navigate. Initially, I was hesitant to reach out for help, but I am so pleased that I did!

From the moment I contacted Couples Corner, the admin team was incredibly friendly and supportive, quickly setting us up with a therapist which was a relief because I was nervous to get started.

Given that my husband is French, I was especially happy to find that they offered French-speaking therapists available in the evenings. This ensured our sessions were comfortable and that he could fully express himself.

One issue I did have was having trouble finding where my receipts were located after sessions. When I reached out about this, the admin was quick to show me a couple of different places where I could find them (email and on my account) and to make it easier, she resent them all to me that day.

We opted for online sessions, which turned out to be a fantastic choice considering my husband works away from home. The platform was easy to use and made it simple to connect without any stress.

The biggest challenge we were facing was with our ability to communicate effectively with each other, especially over topics we disagreed on. Simple disagreements always turned into big arguments that would drag out forever. Our therapist has provided us with the tools and guidance we needed to learn to communicate better and we feel more connected than ever. I cannot recommend Couples Corner enough—thank you for helping us rediscover the love and joy in our marriage!

My experience with the couples corner is always productive, courteous, welcoming all while remaining professional on all fronts. There is always positive feedback and empathy. In particular what I enjoy most about sessions is my therapists ability to take a situation then completely discern and dissect it. He perfectly breaks it down to find the cause and effect to then create a plan to treat it accordingly. There’s a reason I have remained seeing the same therapist for 2.5 years. Empathetic but not in the “boohoo poor you” way commonly encountered at other therapists, which I find off-putting. You will find results to your situations here guaranteed.

I debated if I wanted to leave a public comment, but I think people would generally be disinclined to with something like this kind of service if it was anything but positive.

After some big events I insisted my partner and I seek couples' counseling to talk about the things that were getting in the way of an otherwise great relationship. If we couldn't repair the relationship, we couldn't go the distance and bring kids into the equation to deal with the generational problems we ourselves had and needed to deal with.

Initially, Jamie recommended we not discuss the big events and focus on core communication and the things that made our relationship work and seeing value in each other. I really appreciated that foundational focus. I was on board.

I had stated early that some very traumatic events needed to be discussed and after five months of what felt like mostly socializing at sessions, we weren't going anywhere and the regular arguments continued. I ultimately felt we weren't seeing value in the sessions and terminated them.

I had also been left to feel very uncomfortable during some conversations. A former friend of another gender was discussed and the conversation turned to Jamie talking about how men just can't help but be drawn to a woman in their presence. This was extremely shocking considering the biggest event to discuss surrounded unnecessary jealousy. I'm also a man who grew up with many women in his family and friend circles and I know for certain that the stereotypes about men are not true and that women and men are each capable of doing the right or wrong thing equally.

I also recently learned he had said to my now former partner that he didn't want to discuss the big issues for some reason and he had told my partner this in private sessions early on. Again, I can understand giving some time before leaning in, but to avoid them altogether is exactly what I didn't want. Discussing difficult issues critically and with compassionate, fair guidance is what therapy is for.

How does a couple come to seek help and to work through their worst moments and improve their lives together if their therapist won't even discuss those things?

Jamie started strong and on a reasonable premise of foundation work. It devolved into expensive social visits and awkward and problem inflating commentary.

As the partnership ends today and we go our separate ways, I can't help but wonder what might have been if we had received the support we needed.

I've been a therapist for over 20 years and I've had the pleasure of working alongside many therapists. The Couples corner has been an excellent resource for many of the clients I've referred and I've heard nothing but great feedback about the Couples Corner. I wanted to write this review to encourage anyone looking to strengthen their relationship to reach out and take that first step. This is a place where the counsellors really care and specialize in all things Couples Counselling related.

Jamie had great reviews. Great guy, great demeanor. People who go too help their relationships, and work through( growth, healthy goals, problem solving, and in conclusions things just won't work), he just road the sessions. Gave false hope, convinced out couple too come back; for what he already decided. He knew the truth of our situation, and lied about not knowing about what was going on. He will drag out sessions, so be prepared too pay out. Be honest with your clients on either side. $175 a session, for no answers or a path for growth, or conclusion; just confusion. Not worth his price tag

A great place to talk about your relationship, work on your communication and grow your connection. They were quick to help us book a session with a couples counsellor. Used to be able to park on the street but city bylaw changed that. There is parking at their office but its a little tight with the truck. Still works
