We have been patients of Dr Yohns since he started his practice in Beeton, before moving to Thornton. He is by far the best family Dr we have ever had, being compassionate, thorough, and takes time with us every visit to explain things and answer questions. The nurses and the receptionists are always professional and friendly except for one who is downright rude. I feel fortunate, especially after being extremely sick last year, that I have Dr Yohn as my Dr, as he has followed up regularly with tests etc. and encouragement as I recover still .I like the fact that he isn't quick to prescribe medication unless absolutely necessary, like doctors I have been to in the past. I always know I am being taken care of properly. The same goes for the care he has given my husband. A lot of people criticize him for wearing protective masks/gowns/ppe etc. I find this to be a positive action he takes to protect patients and himself. Lately though, as much as the staff are extremely nice( except for one who is extremely rude) service has gone downhill. Be prepared for a 2-3 hour wait but our time is valuable too.I understand Drs are in " overload" and are doing their best ,but I had a severe reaction to a medication and it was 8+ days before I got a return call. Not even from the DR. From a receptionist who is always nice, but I think under the circumstances of a severe medication reaction, I should have been able to talk to the DR Stop triple booking patients. Many families cannot afford to take an entire day off for a scheduled appointment. It's a very long wait lately. Last time was 3 hours
Nurse Jennifer is fantastic
Receptionist Dee is the kindest most compassionate person we ever dealt with at a Dr office.

My entire experience with the office of Dr. Yohn was a nightmare. We had to wait 6 months for our meet and greet (myself and 3 children).

The day before the appointment, the receptionist called and asked if we were still coming because I had been ignoring their calls for months. I was flabbergasted by her incredibly unprofessional and frankly, down right rude attitude. I informed her that I had not received any phone call from the office. She cut me off and rattled off some dates, and told me voicemails were left. I confirmed I wanted the appointment and she told me that if I didn't call the next day at 10am and give my medical history that my appointment would be canceled.

At the end of the call, I did check my call logs from the office. No calls came into my phone on any of the dates she mentioned or any other days.

I called the next day at 10am and was told (by the same receptionist) the nurse was not in and she would call back. She did not. I called back 2 times prior to our appointment. Once no one answered and the next time I was put on hold for 10 minutes. When she did come back to the phone she told me she'd have the nurse call, cut me off mid sentence twice and hung up on me.
We went early to the appointment, as the nurse had never called and needed to medical history. We were there for an hour and a half and then we were told that health care connect made an error in assigning us to Dr. Yohn, as he doesn't accept military families (though, I have confirmed that he does have military families as patients)

We never even met the Dr. He could be a fine Dr. But his office staff and this whole experience was horrible.

I’ve been a patient of Dr Yohn for a number of months and find him to be attentive and very thorough. The only area for improvement might be the reception process - mostly voicemail- and the wait times are inordinately long if you have a late day appointment. Not the first doctor where I've experienced long wait times.
It’s a little suspect that 2 ppl here are criticizing him for being pro vaccination ( duh. He’s a DOCTOR)- both with just 2 initial names - but if you don’t want vaccinations why not go to a naturopath rather than hurl personal insults and attempt to discredit him. So unfair.
Ps the majority of ppl side with the pro vaccination stance by the way.

Followed my naturopath here (dr Collings) and happy I did as this office has some other cool services I'm gonna try like red light therapy and ozone sauna. Excited ! Cant wait. Love that the old building is being used well. So far so good with the front desk service but I can see how there s a quite a bit there for this set up to work smoothly.

I've been calling the walk in clinic since 9 am this morning, and not a single person can answer the phone to assist with my concern. They close at 1 p.m and don't suggest to leave a voicemail. I understand how busy walk in clinics can be, but if no one is going to answer the phone, advise on your voicemail.
Disappointed.

What a foul location. Been renewing my pills for years and suddenly they stop my access. I have endometriosis. WHY does my life long problem need to be seen every 3 months for a prescription refill? Thanks for not even giving your patients a heads up and continuously refuse them at the pharmacy they’re trying to refill from.

Disappointing experience. They open at 9 AM. My son and I got there at 9:55. To be told that they were at capacity and we’re not taking any other patients when they are open until 1pm and there was maybe eight people sitting waiting. Also didn’t mention any recommendations of where else to go.

Lovely, historic building and a short drive from New Tec or Barrie/Innisfil areas. Good, responsive service from the staff, and the wait isn't too long either at the walk-in hours. There is a pharmacy on premises as well.
