Love this clinic...professional and caring . Have dealt with three of their Doctors and had the best experiences. Was always listened to and was always steered in the best medical directions possible. Thank you for your years of caring and experience. Carol Wisotzki

I used to work here and I will tell you.. this place was a great place. The Drs were all amazing. Fulvia was great management too. The patients were however.. very impatient. They don't realize how many people the Drs here have as patients. It's a long wait because they have alot of you!! Please be kind to the front desk person and the people on the phones. They have a long line of people all waiting for their time. And they take the time to help each and everyone!

I was accepted as a patient for Dr. Van Der poll early last year and the earliest appointment they had for me was months away in August and when I couldn’t come in for then as I was taking care of family in Alberta (I gave months of notice as well) the next appointment they could make work was in November. I had called about two weeks before and confirmed my appointment then the day before said appt it was cancelled on their behalf. Since then I have re applied for the B.C. health registry and they have now twice claimed to have accepted me as a patient therefore booting me off the registry.

As someone has previously mentioned in another review as per the B.C. college of physicians and surgeons

“Registrants must make reasonable attempts to contact an inactive patient before dismissing them from their patient panel, including phone calls, emails, and written correspondence. Patients must be informed about the potential discontinuation of their care and should be provided with an appropriate length of time to respond.”

Clearly this is a pattern for them.
I was accepted as a patient under the care of Courtney medical associates and have received nothing but unkind behaviour from rude receptionists and refused to be given appointment time. While the closest appointment they had for me was months after being accepted it’s unfair that I am to be dropped without notice when I was not told that there was a certain time frame I needed to make an appointment to be kept as a patient. I understand that there is a shortage of care and doctors and nurses but that does not excuse them for consistently being rude. If they do not want to accept someone as a patient then they just shouldn’t and not make it harder for those patiently waiting on the registry.

So far, I've had a good experience with the doctor, however, phoning the front desk has been very difficult as of late. If the lines are busy there is no hold or queue and the call just drops due to the line being busy. There is also no option to leave a message on an answering machine after hours. Having worked as an MOA in other clinics, not having an automated queue system or answering machine is quite surprising. It has been very difficult trying to book an appointment.

I am relatively new to Comox Valley and waited patiently for a new doctor. To my delight, after a year and a half wait, I ended up at this clinic and was assigned to Dr. X Vanderpoll. I feel fortunate that this physician listens to what I have to say and then works with me to find a solution. When we haven’t been able to figure something out, Dr. Vanderpoll has reached out to other colleagues so we can figure things out. He even called before a long weekend with test results, so I wouldn’t have to worry all weekend. The front desk staff, MOA’s and everybody there are always friendly, knowledgeable, willing to help and so so organized. I’m grateful for the office of amazing people.

While my GP is excellent, my experience with Courtney Medical Associates' front desk is disappointing. The wait times, whether in person or on the phone, are too long. It's bureaucratic and inefficient, making it frustrating to book appointments or organize outpatient requisitions such as labs and other diagnostic procedures. Simplifying this process would greatly improve the overall experience.

Terrible Experience at Courtenay Medical Associates

I had an incredibly disappointing and upsetting experience at Courtenay Medical Associates. When I politely asked for some forms, the woman in the back room by the window responded with completely inappropriate behavior. She used offensive slurs towards me, which was not only unprofessional but also deeply hurtful. I was shocked by the lack of basic respect and courtesy.

No one should be treated this way, especially in a medical office where patients expect to be treated with care and dignity. This experience has left me feeling very uncomfortable, and I won’t be returning. I hope they address these serious issues immediately. I will be seeking out a way to formally issue a complaint against their business for blatant racial discrimination. This is absolutely unacceptable on so many levels.

Dr Reggler is the best doctor my wife and I have ever had. Yes sometimes you sit in the waiting room for awhile waiting for your turn however it’s because he cares enough about you to take whatever time you need to discuss and feel comfortable about your medical conditions. Heck he saved my life once by realizing I was in medical trouble and sent me to hospital. He is awesome.
As for the staff. They are also wonderful, one even helped me down to my vehicle after heart surgery to make sure I was safely in the passenger seat for the ride home. I am not sure of her name but thank you so very much!
