I notice a lot of people complaining about wait times and problems with triage system. I hope those patients are all voting and campaigning for higher taxes, bigger hospitals and bigger budgets.
My experiences at this hospital have mainly been for imaging appointments which have always gone quickly and efficiently.
I wanted to give a shout out to the little cafeteria. It has limited hours but tasty food is made in-house and the price is great.
Excellent coffee and you might meet a friendly nurse or lab tech.

I had surgery yesterday, and had the best experience ever. Hudge shoutout to DR.Kruger the anesthesist nurse debbie and all the ER nurses of yesterday . They had me feeling so comfortable and calm helped to explain everything to me .

But not gonna lie about ER ,ER is not a good side of the hospital. The staff are rude in the er

Did not receive proper care, and people should not trust this hospital. I am a 19-year-old male who presented with blood in my urine, cold sweats, body aches, dizziness, and a few other things. Obviously more sick than Tylenol will help lol. So what did the doctors do? They gave me some Macrobid (an antibiotic for mild bladder infections) and sent me on my way after 6 hours and told me to follow up with my family doc. Despite bloodwork showing I was sick.

Here is what was missed:

My bilirubin was 114 umol/L, which is dangerously high and shows signs of liver damage or hemolysis.

My CRP was 67.5 mg/L while my blood cell count was high, so there was obviously inflammation.

as well as gross hematuria (blood in my pee), and no urine culture was even ordered.

No liver panel or hemolysis workup to try and find the source of elevated bilirubin.

The staff was nice, but nice doesn't save lives. I would recommend going to Regina for anything more than stitches unless you want to be told "I don't know" and wait for 6 hours and then follow up with your family doc.

This system really really sucks. I have been dealing with stomach problems from more than couple of years now. Waiting times are crazy. Person having blood in the stool waits in the er for 6 hrs and see people who came before him with back pains going in first. This is absolutely ridiculous.
WHATS THE PURPOSE OF FREE TREATMENT IF THE TREATMENT IN NOT GIVEN ON TIME OR A PERSON IS ONLY CONSIDERED IMPORTANT IF HE/SHE IS GOING TO DIE…HELL WITH THIS SYSTEM!!

My dad recently had a sever stroke.
My mom saw the signs early and the paramedics had him to the hospital within an hour of the event.
The staff at the hospital were polite, informative, supportive and compassionate.
I respect and appreciate everyone that helped us along the way, because of their quick actions my dad is suffering very minimal disabilities.
Thank you all.

I'm posting this review regarding my Daughter.
She broke her leg both the (tibia and fibula) she required surgery. She was in surgery & recovery approximately 9 hours. They wanted to release her that night. She begged them to let her stay overnight and they accommodated. The next day however they released her by taxi with no family to assist her. They let her take some crutches & a wheelchair with strict instructions to the cab driver to bring the wheelchair back. He left her sitting on her front stairs with no railing and he didn't assist her in. He basically left with the wheelchair chair as soon as she was out of it. This was a month or so back. You know what the temperatures were a month ago. The hospital really didn't show her how to use the crutches I really don't think there was any prognosis given to her or even a conversation with the surgeon for aftercare. Saskatchewan health care has gone in the toilet. Shame on the orthopedic department of the Dr. F. H. Wigmore Regional Hospital! The cab driver is a piece of crap too!
