We have had various family experiences here. The staff are amazing. Have been handled in a reasonable amount of time for emerg. Facilities were clean and safe.

I’m not sure where to begin because I can’t say enough good about this emergency department. We were treated with care, dignity and respect on multiple visits over the last few months. From top to bottom, everyone we encountered was caring, compassionate and doing their absolute best to give proper care despite staffing constraints and emergencies.
In a time when our health care system is in crisis, you would never know it with the care we received. People need to put themselves in the positions of the care providers when criticizing staff for issues beyond their control. If I could give 6 stars, I would!

Currently passed 4 hours of waiting, screenshows 11.8 hours more to wait while there is only 5 people in the emergency. My boyfriend was vomiting blood, has body aches and pain, chills, sweating, can barely walk or talk or function but we are still waiting. They took his blood at 2am and it has been 3.5 hours, with a nurse walking in and out of the room like its a walk in clinic and not an emergency. Do better, it’s actual peoples lives at risk (I should not even have to emphasize this).

Edit: Got into a room, however it has been 2 hours and still have not seen a doctor. Not sure if they are waiting for my boyfriend to pass out treat him.

For the first time I went for an emergency care and was spellbound by their service and caring nature. I was taken into consultation within few minutes of my arrival. The doctors and support staff were really helpful and caring. The way they treated solved my mental stress and my pain to an extent and the rest was with a drug. An immigrant visiting ER for the first time in Canada and was completely driven away by their courteous service. Thank you for serving us!

I would rather give this a negative star. After being assessed & advised by family doctor that my 8 year likely had appendicitis, we went to this nightmare. Waited 8 hours before being seen by the emerg doctor. 10 hours total before transfer to Kingston for emergency surgery. All the while BGH is making a profit off of charging for parking to go to the ER. Not impressed!

Most terrible service come in for an emegency for an inphant and still had to wait more than 2 hours to even see a nurse. You can barely call this an emergency room. Staff would rather socialize with other staff members than do their job. Nobody was at the triage reception for over an hour. Terrible staff, horrible building.

Went there once and found the service rude and unwelcoming. They had my two kids (one injured) and my wife wait in three different waiting rooms to finally get an x-ray to see if my daughter's ankle was broken.

The system seems flawed...

I'd suggest they figure out how to service taxpayers with more care and compassion.

Every staff member we have seen tonight has been thorough, kind, prompt and knowledgeable. Thank you all for doing what is needed to make sure my son is diagnosed and cared for and given the right medication. Great team here tonight.
