I have been using Unicare services for my adult special needs daughter since they open which is over 20 years or so. Due to her specific needs it has been a challenge over the years to find the right fit for her. Through trials and tribulations working with Unicare to get the right match (for her changing needs) has sometimes been difficult but we are very satisfied with their service

The worker I am very pleased with is the worker I have now, we get along very well She does what I ask for, and just has issues when she's on vacation or a day off, have a hard time to have a good person to replaced.

I have required Home Services for the past 5 years. My previous provider went on sick leave and a regular replacement couldn't be found. I checked for referrals on FB & Unicare kept coming up. Looked into them & they looked OK. NOT SO MUCH...
I provided them with a co-paid contract of 2 hours work every week. I am being charged for 2 appointments that I had to cancel. My Mom, who has cancer, had been admitted to the hospital in NS via the ER. I was back & forth unexpectedly on a random basis. Both of the 2 appointments were cancelled the day before BUT they are charging me for both anyway! $140ish.
I'm on Long Term Disability with my own health issues and have been dealing with my Mom's precarious health. I can't afford something that didn't happen - no service due to my cancelations. Never at any time was a 24 hour cancellation policy discussed with me, either in my home or on the phone. How can someone predict life emergencies? I could only provide the notice when it was made known to me that I wouldn't be in NB. ZERO compassion or understanding!!! Why toss a guaranteed, paid contract over 2 family emergencies in another province.
