I was scheduled for a total knee replacement at your institution, which went off without a hitch three weeks ago. Everything down to the last detail was perfect. The staff were courteous and helpful, the surgical team top notch. The surgeon, Dr. Andrew Berkshire was masterful. I wanted to specifically congratulate LPN Emma Ball, who was absolutely wonderful after the procedure was done. This woman is a natural as far as the nursing profession is concerned. Give her a raise, please.

First time here and I'm starting to think I should have went elsewhere. My fiancé cut his finger quite badly and we've been waiting here for over an hour already. Like how hard is it to get a couple of stitches. I mean surely the nurses can do that or does it actually have to be the one doctor on duty. If so that's crazy. The nurses are usually much more efficient than the doctors. Anyway I'll update after I see the doctor. Also you should be able to leave comments under other reviews

Well it's been another hour and a half and five people have been discharged with nobody else called in. This is crazy and I totally agree with many other comments regarding the staff in the waiting area. Kinda rude and disrespectful and don't seem to give a s*** about the profession they are in. They should honestly look for another profession. The patients are in enough distress or what not they should be treated with care and respect. They're boss needs a staff meeting asap. .

This hospital is a joke, my mother in law went in Sunday night around 8, had to wait in the waiting room until 3 in the morning before they finally got her in a bed. She had the shivers and fever because of her gallbladder. When my husband went to go see her on Monday at 10:30 she was told the surgeon would be there to talk to her, she didn’t get to see the surgeon until 6 that night. Also before that when my husband visited her the first time she was in a spot with a curtain around her and when I got out of work and went to see her they moved her out into the hallway like she is just a number. I was not happy. While there a nurse came to see her and tell her the surgeon just got out of surgery and that he will be there to see her in a few minutes. 40 minutes later still no surgeon. I asked a nurse when will the surgeon be around and she was told me “I don’t know” so I replied back and told her that we were told 40 minutes ago that he would be here in a few minutes and she still said I don’t know. I told her to find out and she gave me a nasty look. I told my mother in law in front of the nurses that this is unacceptable and next time it is to Fredricton and not bothering with this place at all. Also her battery was dying in the IV machine and it was beeping for a good 5 minutes before a friggin nurse came looking to see where the beeping noise was coming from and when they realized it was her machine, three of them just stood there like lost puppies and one was pushing buttons in a dead machine until a nurse finally said to move the chair that was behind her and move her back so they could plug it in. My mother in law did not get put into a private room until after the surgeon spoke with her. This is not the first time I have been to this hospital and found that staff has the I don’t care attitude. They are unprofessional and something needs to be done. My advice don’t bother going here, just make the trip to Fredricton. I have found that their staff is more professional and kind.

Triage nurse, Holly, somehow made her way to my ER bed to tell me off, because she messed up my reintake for CT. Not fun being abused when you are already afraid for your life. Doctors are very pleasant. Just want to go home 🙁

Rude staff, and rude doctors. The doctor was ARGUING with me, trying to tell me you can't detect a baby's heartbeat until 12 weeks (a male doctor, of course). I have 3 children and all 3 pregnancies I heard and saw the heartbeat by 6 weeks. I think he needs to go back to school. Would never recommend going to this hospital.

Clean, doctor was very informative. Nurses could use some work and actually pay attention to their patients that had been admitted.

I recently spent a week at URVH ER Department and I tell you that the professionalism and the care from doctors, nurses, some cleaning staff snd everyone else that I dealt with were absolutely amazing. I cannot thank them enough for everything they did for me!

I am absolutely appalled by the lack of compassion from a few nurses on the L&D unit! As well as the process of how things are managed throughout the hospital. My daughters experience as a first time mom has been nothing but traumatic. Nurses are judgemental, roll their eyes (I assume they don't think about other people watching them), talk freely about other patients personal health info at nursing station and everyone around can her!!! And what is up with ANYONE being allowed to walk freely through the unit Sick patients, random men walking through the unit, looking in all the rooms etc.... unbelievable!!! Zero privacy. I have never witnessed anything like what we witnessed in the 3 days spent there! Sadly my daughter now has an infection...surprise surprise....post cesarean, she was made to sit in ER hor several hours awaiting results, to then be told by a doctor "why aren't you up in OB?" This hospital is a JOKE!!
