Waited an hour in waiting room and then they take you inside where doctor is supposed to see you. Waited another 2 hours but nobody was called who were waiting, not even one person as they were busy helping white only. I never expected and experienced such racism before and that too in a hospital.
All the patients doctors were treating were white and no white patient was waiting along with us. Huh, so all white people were more sick than others and needed immediate care in their eyes.
There was this lady who had really bad back pain and her legs were numb but nobody called her cuz she was not white.
Something needs to be done here seriously.

Dr Gilchrist and the 3rd year UBC Med Student (I'm sorry, I have forgotten your name 🙁 🙁 🙁 ) both were absolutely amazing when I was here on Wednesday with my broken toe in the ER. The entire team, while incredibly busy, were kind, caring, thoughtful, and patient. The people who work in the medical field are absolute angels. Thank you for taking care of me so well and putting my mind at ease as well. Turned a negative experience into something quite positive.

I get it. I know Delta is under pressure due to lack of medical staff. I get that working emergency is tough. Not asking for compassion but for help. Asking a patient why they are here and not closer to home is ridiculous. Some of us are passing through and leaving a friend's house and boom...a situation that is deemed an emergency is maybe just not. I wont come back here again it's good this hospital is in Delta/Ladner but not a great place. I'll take the front nurse comments as stay in Vancouver and drive yourself further next time. So lame. Makes me think private care is almost better.....almost.....

And I won't comment on racism cause read review below. It's so unfortunate. If you're not white and you come here make sure you know medical terminology in and out. Speak their language and they're nicer.

My five star review goes to Amy in Triage. I can't image what a tough job it is to work in this ER department and stay motivated to come back to work everyday. Amy, you made my day. Thank you for being kind and respectful.

6 hour wait for a few stitches. Sat and watched the emergency room clear out 3 times while I waited...I'm actually still here...still waiting. And so I sit. In this cold, plastic chair that feels like it was designed by someone who hates humans. Across from me, a man moans like he’s dying. Maybe he is. But no one looks up. We’ve all become numb. We are united in our silent suffering, this ragtag band of bleeders and wheezers, coughing into tissues and scrolling through Instagram to feel something. Anything.

Hour one: Optimism. “They’ll call me soon,” I think. “They saw the blood. Surely, they’ll call me soon.”

Hour two: I begin to question the medical system. Why is the man with the fish hook in his eyebrow going in before me? I could die out here. Die of exposure. Or boredom.

Hour three: I start naming the people around me. That’s Coughy McGee, she’s been hacking into the same crumpled scarf since I got here. Sir Wheeze-a-Lot is slumped by the charging station like a dying walrus. I think we’re becoming friends. Or maybe I’m hallucinating.

Hour four: I start to doubt my own injury. Was it ever bleeding? Did I make it up? Is this all a fever dream born of an overripe banana and too many Google searches about tetanus?

Hour five: A nurse emerges from the depths of Mordor. She calls a name. It is not mine. I begin to cry. Silently. Dignified.

And then—hour six. Is it hour 6 ? I'm not sure anymore. I see all new faces. All look fresh and enthusiastic. When did they arrive ? Do they know what awaits them. Will they ever be seen ? Will I ?

Nurses here were very kind and understanding. The doctor on the other hand not so much. Dr Tam is the most rudest and passive aggressive health care worker I have ever met. She was basically yelling at me telling me that my vomitting symptoms are not a big deal because it has happened to me before. Instead of giving me IV, they just kept giving me water cups (6 of them) to "rehydrate". I did not come to the ER and wait for 6 hours to be given water. Eventually I just walked out because I had enough and was not being treated/cared for. Vomitted as soon as I left the building. I came in sick, and left sick. DR. TAM is very unsympathetic and does not care about my health problems. She had a very dismissive tone with me. Not to mention, when I saw her speaking to another patient (a white man) I noticed her tone change. She was speaking to him much more kindly then she was with me. Discrimmination is unacceptable.

Nurses and doctors are super busy in the ER. This is the result of the medical SYSTEM not the staff. Often found the admitting patients rude and impatient (while I'm in the ER). This isn't McDonalds ppl. Good work staff for working hard and putting up with ppls behavior on a daily basis.

This hospital is extremely well maintained its super clean, its to easy navigate through its not to big which makes the experience much more comfortable overall.

All the staff from the nurses to the doctors right down to the kind folks who take the time to keep it maintained and cleaned on daily your work is not unnoticed,

I really valued and enjoyed seeing the culture diversity here it's a great mix of different Canadiens with different back rounds.

It's a great proof what you can create together if Canadians nationwide all worked together. instead of segregation by culture

it's hands down the cleanest hospital i've ever been in personsally.

I had day surgery here my experience far succeeded my expectation, a special thanks to the folks who took good care of me during my surgery today you're all appreciated and valued.

I highly recommend using this hospital given the opportunity.

All the best, thank you !!
