I recently bought some live edge cedar to replace some very old deck rail. Within two days they had it milled to my specs. I took it to the cabin, sanded and finished it as I wanted and installed it. Looks just great! My experience there was excellent. They are now replacing a fence between my neighbour and ourselves so I look forward to seeing that result! Product range is great and they machine a lot if what is available. In my picture,, the decking you see is not theirs but I refinished some old boards. The live edge top rail is theirs. Beautiful Stuff!

Recently bought a 10 ' by 8' pergola kit from Valley View Industries. Team there were very easy and pleasant to deal with. Lumber accurately prepared, cut and marked for easy assembly. All hardware supplied. Assembly went well and it looks great.

Valleyview Industries did a great job! The drawbacks were the time it took once you are in the queue. Their communication was not always on point as we needed notice as to when they would show up etc as we have large reactive dogs. The fence is top notch and they don't skip the details.

My neighbour and I recently had our fence replaced, my neighbour was the main contact for the job. The fence looks great and we get compliments on it all the time, but there were some hiccups along the way that were avoidable and brought down the quality of the experience.

My issues both relate to staining. The cedar part of the fence was not prestained and so they were doing the staining on site (which is fine). I went out to the truck when they first arrived to get a photo of the stain so that I could make sure the gates my husband and I were building would match. The employee told me "Sure, but I don't think we're doing your side of the fence"... I was paying my neighbour for my share of the fence.... and it was a sealant and stain like it's just going to rot out if you don't do the whole thing? and we were paying for staining so I would expect the whole thing stained if we're paying for staining?

They did end up staining my side of the fence. But after we got the bill and after I paid my neighbour, I was up on a ladder staining the part my husband and I built, and noticed the top 3 rails of the fence tops were not stained. Long term that's the part of the fence that's going to see rain, snow, hail, direct sunlight, we paid for staining and sealing that's the part that needs it. I called the office and explained it was not complete, they were very receptive and apologetic, came back, looked, seen yeah they didn't do the top 3 rails, came back and did correctly.

But this wouldnt have been noticed prior to rot occuring if I didn't get up on that ladder. For the amount of money this fence was, we should not have had to double check their work. I don't beleive this is a common occurance and I think we just caught them on a bad day.

But the final result does look great, and I hope our experience can lead to better experiences for future clients 🙂

-1 star for telling me they weren't going to stain half the fence.... When we were paying for full staining
-1 star for not completing the job without being told to come back.
+1 star for correcting the issue. and leaving us with a beautiful fence:)
