At 7 months pregnant I was walking up to emergency during after hours to get to Maternity and there were 2 homeless persons smoking crack on the stairway. As I approached they acknowledged me but made no effort to move and continued to hit their pipe. I had to walk through a smoke cloud of crack and then around and up a slope to get inside. When my partner approached security about it, they told him there was nothing they could do and they stayed stationed… additionally, walking through that ER is uncomfortable. It is always filthy, crammed with people on either side of a narrow hallway, does not feel clean or safe.

My wife Barbara had pneumonia and stayed here at the ICU, and Internal Medicine twice for a total of 2 weeks. The staff in both departments were exceptional in the service they provided. From the doctors, nurses, technicians, to the cleaning staff, they did above and beyond anything that I had expected. We are so fortunate to have this hospital and staff here in Prince George. Thank you for saving my wife!!

I would like to express my deep gratitude for the care I received last week. I had suffered a small stroke, and was brought to Northern Health in PG for Cat and MRI scans. I was there for four days in 2nd floor C Pod.
I found the staff to be kind, considerate and throughly professional. They showed great compassion and willingness to make my stay as comfortable as possible. I appreciate each and every staff member, and thank you all for the wonderful care I received! Lee Cronin.

Hospital staff was great.. however don't rely on your handy cap placards for parking, you still have to pay to park there.. one of the perks of the card is being able to park where ever and not pay.. but the hospital is all private parking, I didn't know that and got dinged with parking fees.

They made my pregnant, extremely sick wife sit in the waiting room for OVER SIX HOURS while she was rapidly deteriorating. She had lost over 10 pounds in 2 weeks (120lbs), had NO water in days because she kept vomiting it all up, and had low blood sugar from not being able to eat. YET, she sat in the fetal position on the floor vomiting into a barf bag in the waiting room and crying.

This was such an unfathomably embarrassing moment for the entire Canadian healthcare system, but ESPECIALLY for this hospital. If you're pregnant and desperately need medical care, you're better off avoiding this place and using ChatGPT for your medical care instead.

Also, if you're thinking of visiting the ER for a superficial wound for a tummy ache, PLEASE DON'T SOAK UP LIMITED RESOURCES FOR THOSE WHO ACTUALLY NEED IT. Take some OTC meds and stop being a leech when people who desperately need help are forced to wait behind your headache/tummy ache/sore leg.

I don't recommend going here, that's it. I will not get into bigger details of my visit. The doctor made my concerns feel like they didn't really matter, which has shifted my opinion about doctors, which was good until my recent visit. I'd much rather drive to the quesnel or Williams Lake Hospital if I ever needed to.
The people who checked you in were pleasant, and security was friendly and helpful. The first visit will be my last
Update: After going thru some reviews, this place should be put under investigation because there's clearly a problem that isn't being solved. It can't be a coincidence that so many people complain about the nurses and doctors.

I was having pain in my kidney are and it was getting worse. Begrudgingly I took the over 2 hour bus ride. Upon arriving at emergency it was discovered i had very high blood pressure. I was admitted and they tried all different things to bring it down. That day the staff was amazing. I had planned to head back not knowing I was going to be admitted. I am on anxiety meds and only brought enough for the morning, during my stay they gave me the anxiety meds. I missed my bus by 2 hours after my bus had left leaving me stuck until Saturday. When they gave me a script for applying and I explained that I was stuck here until next bus on Saturday, I hadn't brought my anxiety meds so could they prescribe me 3 tablets of anti anxiety meds until I get home. The nurse lied and said they didn't have my anti anxiety meds even though I had been given 2 doses. These meds can cause seizures when not taken, so PG hospital if I end up seizing, as I'm by myself here it's on you. The staff from yesterday and today were like night and day. They were amazing yesterday and really sucked today doctor extremely arrogant. 4 stars are for the staff on my arrival date and minus 10 for the day I was discharged.

Doctors are very bad. There was dried blood on the floor going down the entirety hallway. Poor manners from staff . Only nice people in the building were security guards. The doctors lied constantly about wait times instead of being honest and saying they couldn’t fit us in the kept my wife in labour for 3 days to wait for a room. After the doctor threatened to kick me out for pointing out the fact they are way over capacity and understaffed.
