Handy store with the usual cool stuff home hardware is known for.

Large blonde woman at the register really not pleasant or helpful... kind of takes the whole place down a step.. on the edge of being rude she just doesn't seem to like being there or what she's doing at all.

Mmmh, the neighbourhood hardware. Honestly, I rather ride or walk to Fairfield, for consistent excellent service. I don’t know what the issue is, but I rarely get decent service and/or friendly advice at the Oak Bay Ave store. Not even a friendly ‘Hello’ most times I walk in.

Lovely and knowledgeable staff! The woman at the paint desk helped me pick out a stain for my sewing machine case, along with other painting supplies and hardware. So happy with the finished look, thanks again for all the help!

OAK BAY HH: This is the second time I've unfortunately been serviced by the very very rude lady who Is the mgr. She is SOOOO awful. Just awful.
Horrible grumpy face and such an unpleasant demeanour. You can lay down the law without being rude and unfriendly. This woman is not good for this store. She needs a retreat or something I think. I feel for her and having to live in that very negative frame of mind.

Fairfield HH on the other hand is amazing and so helpful. Their customer service is a 10/10. I'll make sure to go there.

Great selection of goods in a small footprint which sometimes beats hiking through a mega-hardware store. Service is usually good but sometimes whether at the cash register or on the floor, service can seem a bit abrupt or not so friendly for reasons not readily apparent. Overall though, knowledgeable and helpful staff make it a good shopping experience.
