BRAD is helpful, knowledgeable, accommodating and friendly. We had the best, most positive experience we've had at Gleaners Vernon today. BRAD gave 100% in effort for customer service. He asked all the right questions, and took it upon himself to make the best decisions for us. He made what felt like a daunting task; easy. We truly appreciate everything he did for us, considering my broken ankle and my husband's age (90). Brad definitely deserves a raise We will definitely be back! Thank you BRAD!

Absolutely disappointing experience – if I could give zero stars I would, and will never return!

I purchased a piece of furniture on a Friday afternoon and, due to scheduling conflicts, requested delivery. When that didn’t align, I let them know I’d pick it up on Monday afternoon instead. At that point, I was told I’d need to pay $40 for them to hold the item — a fee that would supposedly be refunded upon pickup.

Imagine my surprise when I arrived Monday late morning (well within the timeframe discussed) only to be told that I had exceeded the 24-hour pickup window and would not be refunded the $40. Despite the fact that I showed up earlier than planned, the staff flat-out refused to return the money or even offer delivery — which, ironically, was the original purpose of the $40 charge.

To make matters worse, when I requested a tax receipt for what had now become an unwilling donation, that too was denied. The manager was not only unhelpful but also shockingly rude and dismissive, turning what should have been a feel-good purchase into an infuriating experience.

I will never set foot in that store again, nor will I donate a single cent to that organization. It’s deeply unfortunate when a business or charity loses sight of basic customer service and integrity. This experience has completely tainted what was once an exciting and meaningful purchase.

This is not a dusty, smelly thrift store! They have an amazing store full of some beautiful furniture. Mostly older styles. They store is extremely clean and the folks are very friendly

Tried buying a cabin chair that someone probably made in their woodworking shop in their garage, no manufacturer label nor markings. Was told it just came in today so the manager scoured the internet to find the value of it, could not find the exact one but a similar one for $900. Since they are a charity, she priced it at under $200. Saw a near identical one in the store with similar construction for $60 but immediately bushed it off.

Basically left fuming. You'd think that you want all these donated furniture sold.

I was in Gleaners today and was interested in buying a teak coffee table and 2 end tables, i asked the lady TRISHA who was working there if they would take 700$ cash for this set as the set was priced at 825$ and the coffee table had a ring stain on it. I asked her if she was firm on the price and she said oh absolutely yes and i said oh i have 700$ cash she turned and walked away and said absolutly not! She walked right away from me and wouldnt even give me the time of day. This was my first and last time in there! I thought this stuff was all donated and you would think they would give some consideration to someone offering 700$ cash. Someone please teach these volunteers people manners, they are NOT doing us a favor by selling this stuff, WE ARE HELPING THE NEEDING BY BUYING IT, THEY SHOULD CONSIDER DECENT OFFERS…

Hello , whoever is in charge at gleaners please ask the volunteers to be a little bit nicer and remember it’s a non profit . I went in yesterday and the lady Rose was not a nice human being at all when I asked for the price of one of the 8 Christmas trees on display . Rose responded don’t know right now leave name and number call you back when we know . Remember all is donated Rose called me and said $250 which I though was high price , I told her would ask wife .I told Rose wife said we would pay $250 all in with delivery and we would donate our tree as well. Rose said it would be another $40 for delivery . I said that’s ok you keep it with the 8 others you have at the store. Rose complete greed especially at this time of year when Christmas is about giving and caring not being rude and greedy. Non profit and volunteer as well. Rose you should be ashamed of yourself . I would be as any amount will help getting to gleaners goal . I told her to keep it as just trying to squeeze every penny out of me. When I said $250 all in Rose pound sand . You are not a very nice lady at all. The other 2 ladies that helped me with my purchase yesterday take a hug on me as you were both a ray of sunshine and helped wrap up the figurines I bought. Thanks for being so kind . Losing money having someone like Rose working there. Now I would pay $200 all in with delivery . So rude very upsetting , Rose you must have a tough time being that way everyday. Remember we are the customers coming into the store to have great easy experience and say wonderful things but not when you call and act that way . So sad and unfortunate that you represent the store . Shame on you .

Stuff is donated and they charge lots of it. EDIT: I see you replied, thanks for your reply. People that are coming into this store are trying to buy stuff because they can't afford to go buy it brand new.... I went in there and saw stuff three times more than I would see on Amazon or classifieds (I ended up getting the stuff I needed on classifieds and Walmart), do better and have a great wonderful day. Ps I just write reviews on experience and comparisons

I just got off the phone with Gleaners after calling to find out what can be donated and it was THE most rude conversation I have had in a entire year with any one running a business.
I was rushed through each of my questions and all but hung up on. As though what I have to donate is most likely trash in the mind of the person who took my call.
I will never give anything if mine to this company.
Thanks for making my day start with a sour taste!

What a joke.
