Wow, amazing service from the moment I hobbled in after hours and it was just before shift change too. Kim the nurse who brought me in with a wheel chair cause she saw me basically hop in on one leg cause I badly injured my ankle. She was so friendly and bright ..most people in the Kootenays are I've noticed 🙂 She registered me, cleaned my wound and had so much patience considering it was the end of her shift. I dont think i waited more than 25 mins to see a dr. He was a med student, I can't remember his name ..but he was very friendly and explained what he was doing and he had a sense of humor. Told me i needed a Tetanus shot cause on record the last one i had was in 1999, he said thats when he was born, lol .He did my stitches..and he made me feel at ease. I had xrays done. The xray tech was prompt and thorough. Then the attending Dr came by shortly afterwards and said i was good to go. Just a sprain and deep laceration. All this was less than 2 hours.

I was on vacation time in Grand Forks and unfortunately fell during my bicycle ride. I went to Emergency follow morning and was in and out of emergency room in one hour. What a wonderful experience i had with with the medical staff, including nurses , Xray person and Dr. Campbell!!! Very attentive, kind and knowledgable .Thank you for your help!!!

My mom was in emergency for over 26 hours in extreme pain she was finally sent to trail hospital where she was sent for emergency surgery. They said she was minutes away from dying.

5hrs wait for a X-ray ended up leaving.Way understaffed and they are overwhelmed and over worked .It was actually sad watching the gong show for 5hrs .I couldn’t imagine working here.

My significant other has had many admissions to KDH over the last few years. He has always been treated with respect and dignity. The staff are so helpful and we are so lucky to have these caring individuals working in our community!

People on here have no idea what a real hospital wait is. They are all entitled and spoiled. Try waiting a 8-24 hours at a busy hospital. You are seen based on how critically injured at vgh or smh in the emergency. If you come in sick sit down and get comfy. This small hospital is doing it's best with what it has available. They need staff nurses doctors but I'm the only way to dig out is if the community volunteers. Instead of complaining help out. Unfortunately everyone wants everything for free on their terms. I think they are doing a great job considering.

Absolutely terrible... Receptionist or patient coordinator what ever you want to call this person has absolutely no clue what is going on. No concept of "time sensitive" and what's the point of calling ahead to ensure time sensitive sample gets received by hospital only to be told to sit and wait. I hope my sample produces inconclusive results because of this hospital's lack of professionalism. What a joke...

Lab did my blood work and everything seemed fine. Took them 3 weeks to send my results to my attending physician though and only 1 out of the 4 results were actually sent to her. Her office tried calling and getting full results sent to her and all they did was fax the same one as before, they didn't read or try to fix what they did the first time, just copied and pasted. I tried calling the lab and got a rude response of "we all answer the phones here and she cant speak for everyone." I asked if she could ask her coworkers and she said no she wouldn't. I said ok and she hung up. Its been a pain just trying to get some results from people who are just there to make a pay cheque it seems.
