I debated for a long time whether or not to post this. But I feel like people should know what they are getting into when they are going to see him.

Let's start off by saying that I had to wait 6 months for my appointment, which, when you are struggling with mental health feels like a really long time. I arrived fifteen minutes before my appointment.
He greeted me in the lobby at my appointment Time than proceeded to go take a 30 min break, so I had sat in the lobby for nearly an hour before he had called me into the meeting room.
Our meeting was around thirty to forty five minutes.

Our first meeting I found him to lack any compassion and bedside manner.
And although I don't necessarily expect that when seeing a doctor I certainly would appreciate it as the news that he was delivering, or rather, the diagnosis was quite startling and upsetting.

At this time I requested a note. He grabbed a stack of papers, waving them about as to show me how much of a backlog he has for note requests, at that point, he basically denied me a note for my employer.

I seen him a month later, and this appointment went even worse than the first.

I found him to be very condescending chauvinistic, and ultimately, a pill pusher, I do not feel heard, and I do not feel valued, and I do not feel safe to be open with him at this point.

I felt that I was articulating my thoughts and concerns in a very respectful manner being curious about his diagnosis, advocating for myself and asking questions about various medications only to be met with a pompous attitude and him being defensive.

I asked again at this point for a note for my employer, as I have been missing work. I acknowledged i know he has alot of requests but can you please put me in the queue at least?

It had been a month since the last time that I had seen him at this time.

He proceeds to grab two stacks of papers now, and tells me how behind he is on notes and tells me how late he has stay at work- sometimes till 11pm, as if that is my problem?

He tells me that my employer should just accept "my word for it that he has said
It's okay".
It's not that he disagrees with providing me a note but rather he is refusing my request all together because he doesn't have time.

At this point, I'm not sure if I want to continue seeing him because the last 2 appointments have just been so upsetting. I wish that we had other options here. I do not feel that he has my best interest in mind.

Dr Odubote was generally very helpful but the office staff are extremely unprofessional and inconsiderate of time. I called to book an appointment and was told I would be called back with the available times. First of all, why? Second of all, I was never called back, and when I did make attempts to call back myself for the next two days, nobody ever picked up despite it being during office hours. I often wait up to 45 minutes past the scheduled time to be seen. I left my university class an hour early to be there on time. Extremely inconsiderate.

My review is pretty straight forward. I had two missed appointments. He didn't show up, or atleast he says he was in with another client. Door was locked and no one answered or showed. Didn't get my medications refilled due to missed appointment. Multiple requests from my pharmacy, doctor, and myself did not prompt anything. After hours phone call from him consisted with how grateful I should be, and that he should be at home with his family. Dude, I just need my medication for a very serious brain malfunction.
After that, he still forgot to refill my meds.
Enter downward spiral of withdrawal. I finally see him in person. The rest of that scenario went just as well.
When it comes to quantity and quality, you need to find balance sometimes. He definitely prefers quantity.

Dr. Odibute is an incredible Psychiatrist and if you find yourself waiting, it is because Dr. Odibute takes the time with his patients to accurately diagnose their issues so he can provide the solutions they are seeking for their mental health. Sometimes solutions take longer then the appointment time, and as a result you have a Dr. that genuinely cares about your needs and isn't urgently rushing you out the door. Amazing Dr!

I will echo what others have said in that Dr. Obubote is a caring doctor who clearly wants to take the time to understand your needs and work with you but he is obviously overloaded with patients or has a hard time with managing his own time. I know I had a 10AM appointment one day - I was the first one in that morning, and I waited until 1045 until he even arrived in the office. When I go there, I expect to be waiting for an hour, minimum, before I get in. Just be aware of this, but beyond that, I think Dr. Odubote is genuinely a good man who wants to help.

He is generally pretty capable and competent--I was able to get a couple diagnoses that helped me, including meds as well.
However, the office's time management is extremely unprofessional. Multiple times I've come in for appointments and had to wait hours to be seen. In the most recent case, I was available for my phone appointment at the scheduled time, but I did not hear from him until I was in the middle of something else. I was told he would call me back in fifteen minutes, however, despite checking in at half an hour past the scheduled time, still nothing. An hour later I had to reschedule.
This was two hours post the time my appointment was scheduled. I made the appointment due to concern with a depressive episode, and I am neurodivergent, so the lack of schedule was very upsetting and stressful for me. It feels like they do not care about their patients or take their concerns seriously, which for a department specializing in mental health is really not that great.

I was also denied an autism assessment because I was making eye contact with the doctor. 😅
