Does a 'triage' system but neglects to even check the blood results to indicate patient well being. Absolutely atrocious, my son was in severe DKA and we sat for 7 hours before finally driving to another hospital where they realized that the blood that was taken at ladysmith should have prompted an immediate urgent patient transfer via ambulance to an equipped emergency unit. Now they refuse to release the blood tests we had done that morning, and they've given us the run around about how to obtain them. Absolutely negligent. Urgent care wasn't overly busy when we got there and in the seven hours we were there, we saw ONE patient get seen. We did get to hear ALL about the doctor's weekend though, as he chatted up the nurses.
I have been trying endlessly to obtain these test results, and I was just screamed at by the records clerk- she was furious that I would be seeking data that we are evidently entitled to. This place is a dark joke. I have taken my kids here and we are always (with the exception of one time when my youngest needed stitches) deferred to an actual hospital.

Friendly staff doing their best. Get there early and you'll only wait about an hour to get help. Could you please turn the heat down though people You walk in and the place is like a sauna. I checked my ambient temp app and it was literally 78 F April 1st. That's too warm. I felt like I was going to faint after standing in line in the heat with people all around me. Turn the heat down please!

So happy with this incredible health centre. All the staff from doctors to nurses, front desk everything are absolutely wonderful. I needed an MRI desperately and did not want to wait three months. I found a private MRI and then asked if Ladysmith Health Centre would fax the private facility and they did within two hours. Thank you so much, I'll be back to review the imaging with one of the doctors in a few weeks.

Came in for a kidney stone and other related issues. Very friendly staff and accommodating. Although my Ultrasound had to be postponed, I got a clear option. That's how BC's clinics should work.

I have had to visit this facility multiple times, the most recent on Monday Feb 10th. The wait times are minimal compared to Nanaimo Regional and the nurses and Dr's have always been amazing!! A big thank you to all of the staff for taking care of me and my family when we need it most!

I feel compelled to sing praises to the the wonderful staff of this facility's Urgent Care Unit. From the receptionist who efficiently checked me in; to the Triage nurse who was kind & efficient and to Dr Brown who looked after me - Compassionate, excellent listening skills, efficent, thorough and great professional bedside manners. Best medical experience for me in a long long time. Thank you for choosing the professions you took. You guys are all good at what you do. We need a lot more of you.

Can't say enough about the staff at Ladysmith Urgent Care on Sunday, Feb 16th. Hubby cut his finger off. By the time I got to the hospital, the team had a hand specialist appointment booked, had him calmed down. Dr. Toom and his staff did above and beyond

People waited 4hrs from when I first arrived. Nothing moved for an hour and I had to pick my kid up from school. Came back 1hr later (other walk-ins) give you an estimated time) and was screamed at by the receptionist and told in a abrasive manner by the nurse they called my name 3 times.

I returned expecting to not be seen if I missed my turn and repeated several times I would try another day when I had more time yet they continued to guilt me. I wasn’t holding up the line, my kid needed and I fully understood I missed my turn but I left feeling worse than I arrived. Triage nurse I saw was awesome but the staff there when I returned were rude.

It’s fair to say it was a long day for everyone but compassion or at least not act like elitist school teachers chastising your patient who did their time. I don’t feel confident returning if they are going to make me feel beneath them.
