This is more for the emergency department but it's not showing up on Google so...

Every doctor I've seen here refuses to give any diagnosis. They will prescribe medication but not give you a diagnosis. Even prescribing the wrong antibiotics despite knowing it's the wrong medication. Don't go here unless absolutely necessary.

I waited for 2 weeks to wrestle down my feelings of deep rage with the Tumbler Ridge Medical Clinic. After showing the Doctor spent decades-long using refill containers, I requested to get a prescription renewed on the same medication that I've been taking for 61 years. Because of the recent Matthew Perry drug fiasco with the inherent fear still lingering about, the spineless Doctor was too chicken to renew my prescription. His suggestion to me was to go see a neurologist for the twitch in my neck (aka cervical dystonia/spasmodic torticollis) or try other drugs. Wow, try other drugs! Sounds delicious and interesting especially since I’m 75 years old and after many futile decades of running into brick walls harboring cures, I really gave up on miracles as I just want to control the damned nerve as it impedes my speech. However, let's see how all this would be going down: I go and make an appointment that takes time and see somebody else in a few months and that takes more serious time after I drive to some unknown place a few hundred kilometers away and spend much more time (and "waiting" for me is a desperate luxury that is slowly depleting my precious time while I face the sunset of my LIFE) and probably pay a ton of money for something that may or may not work? Really? And who will monitor the new prescription? Does any of this make any sense? Did anybody spend time thinking of the stupid ramifications? Did Covid-19 suck out all the IQ and brains and talent out of the BC Medical Group and left only dregs of shadows of a doctor team with mindless inane understandings? If in another week I'm still incessantly pissed, I will go and introduce myself to the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC and then we will "discuss" in greater depth what happened and any possible remedies within. Really, CANADA, you used to be the cream of the crop with so many wonderful attributes, especially medicine, and what happened to you and how did you allow this situation to become so incredibly mentally and medically inept?

Clinic in Tumbler Ridge is an absolute joke. Went in yesterday @ 10:05am and they said they wouldn't take me unless i came in at 9am. So went in at 9am today like they wanted and sat waiting till 10am, while the doctors talk about Disney Land & there vacation to LA for a whole hour. But they apparently have no time for patients after 10. Like, what the do you guys even do?
Better off calling 911 and the emergency line if you have issues.
The whole place is corrupt.

They tell you to call in at 9am before they can take you. But if they believe your medical issue isn't serious enough for them they will turn you away. I waited all weekend to call Monday morning, and when I did they told me they were saving the spot for someone with more serious issues and I should go see my family dr. Even though that's 8 hours away and Ive been suffering concussion and pain. Sigh...when they do get you in though they're great. What can I say.

Would give zero stars if I could. The medical "team" does not listen to your concerns or perform exams/tests on which you request. They argue with you over your previous/current diagnoses. They tell you travel out of province (3hours away to grande prairie) to go sit in the emergency room there instead. The telephone system is a joke, you're lucky to get through. Waiting for your scheduled telephone appointment is anywhere in the range of 2-4 hours, might as well take the whole day off work to wait for a dr to call, just for him to talk for 2mins and not listen to your needs. 10/10 do NOT recommend.

A few weeks ago I tried to see a doctor and I was turned away. I had difficulty breathing as my throat was closing. not covid19. They refused to help me. I was lucky enough to make it to dawson and there i was admitted into the hospital. I was very shocked that they refused to assist me when I told them I had trouble breathing. And again I had already known that it wasn't covid19. And told them what the problem was.
Please medical staff treat serious issues. Don't let your fear of covid19 cause deaths in non covid19 patients.

Nine times out of ten there's no one during open hours to take your call. Used to be really good service but it's taken a dive in the last few years. Real shame.
