Had my first visit to a clinic here and it went better than expected. Booking was simple online, and I didn’t wait too long. The staff were super friendly and made things feel relaxed. The doctor actually listened, which was refreshing. Only downside was the wait for test results, but not a big deal. Overall, felt safe and well taken care of.

One of the busiest places here in Our city.
The staff keep this hospital efficient clean and very professional.
The Emergency department is World-Class
From the staff to the Nurses to the Doctors everyone works extremely hard to treat everyone.
Addicts seem like they're always there attempting to get help.
Security does the best they possibly can.

My ten day stay at the beginning of July was likely the worst visit to a hospital I’ve ever had.
I was medevaced from Whitehorse early Canada Day and arrived at the facility at approximately 2pm after nearly a week of waiting.
Staff at the hospital didn’t realize I was arriving or know why I was there, which is unacceptable.
I spent approximately three hours in the hallway of the emergency department before being moved to a cramped room in Emergency.
I spent nearly two hours there before being moved to a a room in the surgical ward.
It took that long for the intern I was dealing with to figure out the situation and find the relevant documents.
I then waited two days for surgery, once going more than 24 hours without food or water while waiting only to find out the surgery wouldn’t happen that day, no meal had been set aside for me despite assurances that it would be. I had to have food delivered.
On virtually every subsequent day I was not on the meal list and had to request food.
At one point a nurse noticed my meals were very small and requested extra portions.
It took more than a day to get that sorted out since some unidentified person had told the kitchen to place me on half portions. I had a meal list showing I was to receive half portions at the same time as double portions. It was mind boggling stupidity.
Two days after my surgery I was working with physio when I fell, injuring my left knee and ankle. I didnt expect to be further injured!
No doctor came to examine my injuries nor was any X-ray or other testing done despite my requests.
The lack of professionalism was astounding.
When I returned to Whitehorse those tests were done in short order.
I was left using first a walker and then a cane to get around.
I was scheduled to be discharged within the next day or two but that injury delayed the process.
I am still using a cane to get around.
I was subsequently transferred to the transition unit, in another cramped room.
The unit could best be described as a cattle call.
I remained there for four and a half days before a medevac arrived for me unannounced at 1am.
By then I was more than ready to go.
A most unpleasant stay.
Do better!!!

Worst nurses in the business. Always cold. Always too busy. Always talk to you condescending and make your illness and fear seem like nothing more than an inconvenience to them. They make nicknames for patients that can be heard by other patients. They make you divulge personal and medical information in front of everyone. There is no respect from the nurses what so ever. The doctors are decent, but VGH is where integrity and care from nursing goes to die.

Your life depends on them, and you'll won't have a choice... but these are the worst of them all, and its more than likely because they are all over paid travel nurses who have no care for the hospital they work at or community they treat.

I recently visited the emergency department at Vancouver General Hospital due to a rapid heart rate, and I was truly impressed with the exceptional care provided. The staff were professional, compassionate, and highly attentive throughout my visit
