The Penny Cafe has a unique aesthetic that gives the establishment a relaxing aura. I once stayed there a long time ago, just to do some reading, and it felt almost like reading at home in a good way. I have recently tried their lattes, and it was decent. Every time I come there, I would try a different coffee concoction and have enjoyed every one of them. I also had their Turkey & Cranberry Panini that was very good. Their muffins and Vegan Brownies are great too, so I highly recommend trying them. I very much like coming to the Penny, and everyone else should try it as well.

Great little cozy coffee shop. They make a handful of their own syrups and also have a tasty vegan brownie and a vegan wrap.

Perhaps if they continue to be successful they will have later hours. Currently 5pm close (4pm Sunday)

While the food at this place is great, their coffee doesn't quite suit my taste. I went for my regular — an iced vanilla latte with oat milk but it just tasted off. On a brighter note, the ambiance and service consistently shine here. We decided to go for the breakfast sandwich, and it was an absolute delight. Ask for it well-done for that extra satisfying crunch. I'm definitely planning a return visit, and next time, I'll be sure to explore their selection of baked goods as well.

Absolutely love this charming little coffee shop! The cozy atmosphere makes it a perfect spot for studying or one-on-one meetings. Great coffee and a delicious selection of desserts!

I love having this local coffee shop so close to my work. I try to stop by for a Penny pincher latte whenever I can but the rhubarb iced matcha sounded too good to pass up yesterday and it was fantastic! AND $2 went to good cause (Mission search and rescue). Thanks for being a part of downtown Mission penny-folk!

Here for lunch last week and have tried it a number of times of the last few years when passing through Mission. Food is very overpriced (see photos). The "Ham It Up" sandwich had one small piece of ham for a whopping $10.50! Good atmosphere and great staff, but highly overpriced for what you are receiving. Important to note that the price of these sandwiches has not increased drastically due to inflation...they have always been expensive. Chicken Pesto sandwich has mediocre taste at best. Lots of bread in both sandwiches with little meat. If they are going to charge these prices in the small city of Mission, these sandwiches need to be packed full of meat. Coffee prices expensive too. Positives are the local family-owned business and the atmosphere. Need work on the value and the taste.

One small area to improve would be -
The old building smell (especially in the back where the bathroom is) is a bit too much for me unfortunately. That is probably the reason I don't go there as often. If they would put some Febreze plug-ins to neutralize that smell, it would probably help a lot as smells are hugely important to the customer experience.
Other than that, it truly is a hidden gem!! Amazing Amazing coffee. Best in town 👏❤️
