Went in this store for the first time today, they have a good selection of stanfield stuff. Comically non existent customer service, I’m embarrassed for the people that run this place, and I’m shocked that they’re still in business.

I was looking for a pair of Canada west work boots and a-one carries that line. However, I am going to be honest and say I was hesitant to go and spend my money there based on previous reviews.. When I called, the employee was extremely helpful and set aside a few pair of boots for me to try and I was just going to get a fitment and order online. I got there after work, I sat down and started to try on boots and the employee was extremely nice, knowledgeable and good at her job. She answered all my questions, knew the difference in each boot and helped me determine what would be best for my work. I'm only 3 hours into my shift but the new Canada west boots I got from A one are fantastic and so were the people at the store. Ignore all the negative posts. These people are knowledgeable and passionate when it comes to supplying canadian made boots. I'll be buying all my Saftey gear here from now on.

The woman that works the front desk is rude and not helpful at all. My buddies 13yr old son walked in with $200 in his pocket to buy clothes and was told to leave because they don't have any clothes to fit him and he isn't welcome in the store without an adult. I have never heard something so rediculous and unprofessional in my life. I have spent a lot of money there over the years and plan never to go back again.

If the owners can't handle the addicts in their neighborhood, they should move the store. Horrible service. Creepy owners. They seem to carry mostly xl and XXL and xxxl sizes. Prices are never ever discounted.

Absolutely unreal. This store will not even sell clothes to a teenager unless he's accompanied by an adult saying that they don't have anything in there for him when he fitsmens small and absolutely loves the clothes they have but because I work the same hours as they do and can not come into the store personally they refused to even let him look let alone buy anything. Absolutely pathetic and will NEVER see a dime from me or anyone I know

Absolutely terrible service. Only carry 3 sizes for a specific boot that wouldn't fit a 15 year old kid let alone anyone that actually works in the trades. The lady at the front was also rude when I asked if they could order my size in. Never shopping there again

I have have always been happy with my purchases here. Most recently I picked up a heavy duty rain jacket that has been keeping me dry. The orange earplugs they sell are better than the disposables that everyone seems to use. I generally like going here because I feel like they have put thought into their inventory. I wish their store hours were more accommodating. There are only 2 days in the week that I can shop here because I get off work at 4:30 Monday through Friday. If your target market is working people, why would you have store hours that don't accommodate working people?

Speaking to the low reviews on A1 here: Yeah the customer service can be a bit lacking or awkward, and if you’re the easily offended type I could see you feeling watched. It’s unusual but it’s so consistent there has to be a deeper reason, which I’m not familiar with, so I just go with it. At least they treat everyone this way, so you can’t say they’re not fair! And the hours can be hit or miss - everyone has staffing issues these days.

A-One specializes in safety and they do it VERY well. Possibly the best I have ever seen and I’ve been up and down and across Canada and the US. I always hunt down the local safety store and no one has anything on Duncan’s A-One. Just call ahead to make sure they’re open and go and enjoy what they’re great for - a huge selection of quality safety and workwear. As long as you remember you’re shopping for safety gear and that you might not be doted on as you wish you’ll be fine; just manage your expectations on that front and it’ll be fine. I’ve been shopping here for ten years and I’ll continue to support and appreciate the service!

They have a huge selection and in S/XS sizes as well, which is unheard of at any other safety store. Small people deserve to be safe and fitted well. Thanks A-One. Very grateful to have you in Duncan.
