If you’re in the market for new glasses, head to ArtSEE Eyewear in Oak Bay Village. You’ll get expert advice and service from the enthusiastic and good-natured group there. Selecting new frames was great fun. After my recent experience there, I wouldn’t go anywhere else! Shannon is awesome!!!

I ordered glasses December 18 2024 and was never contacted. When I asked for a refund I was told it was MY fault that I wasn’t contacted and she was extremely defensive as I tried to state my concerns but instead of problem solving, she told me that I was GRUMPY!!! I wasn’t grumpy, I was appalled. I was given the excuse that it snowed, ( oh my goodness!!) when in fact they had used an improper email address that I had had to correct for them in December. Her excuse was ‘these things happen and that I myself should have done something and it was my fault’. No sincere apologies were given when a sincere apology would have solved the problem ( it snowed tho’ ) The twisting of facts and denial of fault on their part was so wrong. When buying these $1200.00 glasses I expected professional service and professional sales people. She was anything but professional taking no responsibility for the problem. To name call a customer is beyond belief. It was not my fault that these glasses sat there and no one thought to try another method of contacting me. The manager then hung up on me. I am out a $500.00 deposit as she refused to refund my money. I needed the glasses but I couldn’t bring myself to enter the store on Oak Bay Ave and sit and chat with the staff involved. Trust was gone.

Walking by the artSee shop on Oak Bay Avenue, a window display arrests my attention. Walking two pups, I open the door to ask a question from the threshold.
Instead, Shannon and Jeanette invite me in, tail-waggin’ pups and all.

Examining present frames, prescription, and shape of my face, Shannon shares the latest in design, style and colour. I try on a select assortment. With the ladies’ support, guidance, and exuberant humour, we narrow the promising field to four.

I return with my wife who will look at the new eyewear I will look through. Jessica capably picks up where Shannon left off.

Meticulous, she deciphers my ophthalmologist’s scrawled prescription.

She encourages us to embrace and enjoy the selection process. We do. The slender Dutch frame? Wooden frames…who knew?

We decide on a stylish Parisian frame, cobalt blue, burnished orange tips….c’est si bon.

Jessica is attentive. She ensures my medical benefits claim is applied at time of purchase. She estimates delivery in 10 to 18 days. She power cleans my present glasses. Service with a smile.

Jeannette’s “Your new eyewear has arrived” is music. The lens makers have promptly completed their work. I will have my new eyewear before Christmas.

We dropped in on the recommendation of others while visiting Victoria, to find specialized nose pieces for a set of glasses. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and creatively solved the problem for us. While waiting, we looked around the store, and were impressed with the diversity and quality of the frames we saw. I have a hard time finding glasses that both fit and suit my face, but I saw several here that would work. Between that and the knowledgeability and friendliness of the staff, I may wait till I'm in Victoria to order frames next time I need new ones!

I had been cheaping out on glasses elsewhere for a while, but this time I needed a quality pair of progressive lenses cycling glasses. The staff at artSEE Eyewear were top of the line - very knowledgeable AND super helpful and friendly. I ended up with a great pair of prescription sports glasses and went back for a pair of day to day sunglasses because the styles in this store are out of this world, and the staff made sure the fit was perfect.
