Make a reservation. I honestly think this is a 5 star winery but unfortunately I'm not very satisfied with my visit. The place is quite large and didn't seem very busy, we came in around 2pm and we're a party of 3. I have family that had visited here before and they loved this place so I had high expectations. Unfortunately we didn't know exactly when we'd visit so we just assumed we could drop in for a tasting but that didn't work out for us. The hostess did her best to accommodate us but we could not do a tasting. I did have a chance to have a glass of the sparkling rose which was lovely but I really wanted to try the Chardonnay and at least one of the reds. Disappointing and I don't know if I'll be back.

I had such a great experience at Blue Grouse Estate Winery. From the moment we arrived, the vibe was calm, elegant, and welcoming. The views are breathtaking — endless green hills, perfectly lined vines, and a beautiful modern building that still feels cozy and inviting.
We did a tasting flight and every single wine had its own personality. The Pinot Gris was crisp and refreshing, and the Quill Red had such a smooth finish — I ended up buying a bottle to take home. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, happy to chat and explain the story behind each wine without ever making it feel too formal.
One of the highlights for me was sitting on the outdoor terrace with a glass of wine, looking out over the vineyard as the sun started to go down. It’s one of those places where time slows down in the best way. If you’re anywhere near Cowichan Valley, make the stop — it’s absolutely worth it.

Amazing facility and even better local wine. The charcuterie board was delicious as well. The whole tour experience was top notch. Our guide Brooklynn was very professional and knowledgeable with superb customer service. Highly recommend for anyone in the area.

Had a nice experience at Blue Grouse estate winery. We had the savour the island which was very nice.

The charcuterie board was nice although I belt the crackers had been a little too dry to my taste but to each and their own.

Beautiful property and nice that we could see the vines when we had the tasting.

Stopped in here on a while and enjoyed a 'flight' of wines. The staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. An all around positive experience!

While coming back from Duncan my Victoria friend told me she had never tried a wine from Vancouver Island because she was told they where cut with wines from USA and that the weather was not good for grapes. People talk for no reasons!!!!
I am someone that like clear things. When I saw the sign on the Malahat I begged her to turn and go see for myself. I met Genevieve that was welcoming and informative.
I was not wanting to try (on a empty stomach) She explained that there are "mélange" of grape type but no cheap wines... As they do in Europe. We finally bought 2 bottles and will enjoy tasting in few days. The place is gorgeous and inviting.

Great winery! Sadly I was the DD for a birthday party so was not able to partake but grabbed a couple bottles for later! Luckily they had plenty of non alcoholic options and the food pairing was amazing. The charcuterie board is delicious as well as the pizza options. Very beautiful with the hills in the background.
