Be careful. If you tell them you have an alcohol problem, they'll label you as having a drug and alcohol problem when drugs were never the problem. Because like most psych services, they jump to conclusion instead of actually listening to you.

I went, I got let go TWICE while I was still sick and confused and I had to figure it ALL out on my own.

If you're not actively suicidal, they don't want you. I was never given one ounce of good advice while attending my sessions.

Furthermore, I was never told what my condition was until I had to pry it out of them during my LAST visit to them.

All in all, I thought their service was slack. Social worker brought his political beliefs into our sessions and i had to walk out. He's lucky I didn't report it. And why am I being stuck with a "social worker" when I need a psychologist?

All in all......they throw you away when your still sick because of "reasons" I'm having problems now, and I won't be foolish enough to call them about it.

Called complaining about my new meds making me more anxious and suicidal. Receptionist said phycologist will call me at so and so date. Nope he called me the next day as I was going into work I said you'll have to call back at 2 he said okay and that was a week ago. Haven't heard back but also haven't offed myself. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Waited almost 2 years to just see someone, when I finally get to see someone and start making progress they leave. This has happened now twice, the first time they retired and was waitlisted again for 6 months, now I'm with another person and found out they're leaving now so now I'm waitlisted again.. plus I find if they cant stuff pills down your throat or your not into group activities they cant offer you much at all.its hard to find good, committed professional help that are willing to listen.

Dr. Elizabeth Ann Lock and colleagues at this clinic tried to MURDER me by a forced cold-turkey withdrawal of a high daily dose of Xanax taken for 11 years. This was done after media attention and reporter asking this clinic for comment on my medical cannabis hunger-strike in 2010. The college of physicians helped to cover this attempted murder...after I launched a formal complaint against lock. I have the facts and protocol breaches on my side, but these were ignored by the college. Because Christiana McDougal-Flemming and Evelyn Pollard were also present and allowed Lock to continue her abuse and targeting, they too are equally culpable in this ATTEMPTED MURDER. This clinic needs to be fully prosecuted and all those responsible sent to prison. - Stephen Godfrey

i had called for someone to talk to a few years back, they had said there is very little available service and that the most they could do was have some random unqualified person meet me in a car and talk about things. i declined that silliness. later on i find out that they had written a file about me, looking only to profile me and my mental health (without even meeting them whatsoever).. this caused doctors to gaslight my spinal fracture and say its all in my head and that they refuse to help. it is a systemic oppressive circle in this provence. they are suppressing people and they know they do. i had to pay lots of money to get a real doctor at a physio to write a report in regards to my broken back so i could finally get the treatment that i need. this disgusting mental health whatever it is is not helping anyone and is purely to profile individuals prior to drugging them. wish i never called.

As I was starting therapy and finally opening up my therapist was taken off my case and placed back in the emergency room. I went from having an appointment every week or two, to being waitlisted for upwards of 6 months to finally get a call back to book an appointment 2 months from the call date. As well as being informed that it would be up to a YEAR to get a follow up appointment. Needless to say the discouraging news stopped me from pursuing further treatment and since I have regressed.

Also requested to have a copy of my diagnosis sent to a clinic in PEI called Marijuana for Trauma and had my request denied due to the fact that the clearly old fashioned Dr. Moss did not agree that I should use marijuana products (in my case CBD, which I should add is not psychoactive nor addictive) to treat my mental illness. I struggle with addiction issues on top of chronic pain and have been doing everything I can to find a treatment plan that I cannot abuse. Thanks to this rejection of request I will continue to struggle in physical and mental pain until someone can help me or until I am forced to take pain management into my own hands, namely smoking marijuana (which due to the process and its psychoactive compound THC, will make my anxiety much worse), alcohol to dull the anger I feel when I think about how mind numbingly easy this issue is to treat, and then painkillers naturally because what works better at treating physical AND emotional pain than opiod painkillers!? Thanks for nothing Cumberland Mental Health Services. The only thing you've proven good for is to remind me why I never want to live anywhere near Cumberland county again.

Changed my therapist twice without my knowledge, almost every appointment i make is cancelled the day before or the day of and you wont hear back from them for a week, the therapist i now have is extremely judgemental and dosent seem to understand that peoples way of copeing is all differnt and is very against actually finding a medication to help combat my life long illness.
