I had a disappointing experience during my visit to this clinic Dr Karimirad today. When I politely asked the receptionist if he could direct me to a nearby walk-in clinic, he responded rudely and claimed he had no idea where it was — even though it was only a 2-minute walk away.

Later, I brought back the address of the clinic to possibly help other patients in a similar situation, but he refused to accept it and told me it was not his concern. I found this lack of empathy and professionalism very upsetting. Patients deserve kindness and support, especially when they are not feeling well.

I am writing this review on behalf of my friend, who is currently battling CANCER and has had a deeply concerning experience with Dr. Karimirad. I hope this review serves as a warning to others seeking medical care.
Dr. Karimirad demonstrated extreme unprofessionalism and a troubling lack of basic medical knowledge. My friend was misdiagnosed and not given the proper examination or attention needed for her severe symptoms. This negligence forced her to go to the emergency room due to excruciating pain, where she was finally diagnosed with CANCER.
It is alarming that Dr. Karimirad seems to be practicing with outdated methods and has not kept her medical knowledge current. Her communication skills, lack of understading English, also need significant improvement, as she did not listen to my friend's concerns, which contributed to the dire situation.
This experience highlights a critical issue: inadequate care can have devastating consequences. I urge anyone considering Dr. Karimirad for medical treatment to think twice. Your health and the health of your loved ones are too important to risk with a provider who does not prioritize patient care.
Please take this warning seriously and seek medical advice elsewhere.

I am writing this review to express my extreme disappointment with the service provided by my family doctor. As a long-time client, I expected better care and attention, but unfortunately, it seems that the doctor's priorities lie elsewhere.

During my recent appointment that I was on time, I clearly communicated that I had to return to work after one hour. However, I ended up waiting for more than an hour without any updates or communication from the doctor or the staff. This lack of consideration for my time and commitments is unacceptable. Most importantly, she does not respect the patients' privacy because she visited the patient on the phone and the phone was on speaker and all the patients sitting in the office could easily hear her voice and the patient's voice.

Furthermore, the doctor's demeanor was consistently rude and dismissive. I felt as though my concerns were not taken seriously, and the overall experience left me feeling disrespected and undervalued as a patient.

It is disheartening to see that the doctor's focus appears to be primarily on financial gain by beauty patient rather than providing quality care to her long-time clients. This prioritization of profit over patient well-being is deeply concerning.

In light of these experiences, I regretfully cannot recommend this doctor to others.

I was able to get in to see her same day. Her office is conveniently located and her receptionist was friendly.

I didn’t have to wait long at all before I was shown into the room.

Dr. Helen was extremely friendly and accommodating to my needs.

She explained everything throughly and was extremely Professional during the Botox application.

She gave great after care advice. I filled it and have gotten excellent results.

Would definitely recommend!

The staff are terrible. They never pickup the phone and are very unprofessional and unpunctual. For example for a simple blood test request you need to keep calling for a week if someone grabs and returns your call.
I am thinking to change my family doctor and choose a new GP, although she is knowledgeable but I had no choice cause my recent experience mad me very mad at the rude staff.

Extremely Disappointed with Dr. Helen Karimirad's Services

I am compelled to share my incredibly disappointing experience with Dr. Helen Karimirad, the general physician in North Vancouver. My encounters with her have been utterly unsatisfactory, leaving me with a profound sense of frustration and disbelief. I regret to say that Dr. Karimirad has demonstrated a complete disregard for patient care and professionalism. Here are the incidents that have led me to write this scathing review:

1. Lack of Follow-up: Dr. Karimirad consistently failed to follow up with me, which is a crucial aspect of patient care. Despite numerous attempts to reach out and seek clarification on my health concerns, I never received any response or acknowledgment from her. This neglect left me feeling abandoned and unsupported.

2. Insufficient Time and Attention: During phone visits, Dr. Karimirad seemed disinterested and rushed. It was evident that she did not allocate enough time to address my concerns thoroughly. Her dismissive attitude made me question the value of seeking medical advice from her in the first place.

3. Unprofessional Behavior: Shockingly, Dr. Karimirad shouted at me when I asked a simple question about my condition. This unprofessional outburst was not only uncalled for but also deeply disrespectful. As a patient, I expect to be treated with dignity and kindness, which was clearly lacking in my interactions with her.

4. Bullying and Derision: Dr. Karimirad displayed a concerning tendency to belittle and mock patients. Instead of taking my health concerns seriously, she callously dismissed them as "million-dollar questions" and even had the audacity to laugh at my expense. Such behavior is utterly unacceptable and unbecoming of a medical professional.

5. Failure to Listen: One of the fundamental pillars of healthcare is active listening, but Dr. Karimirad consistently ignored my attempts to express my symptoms and concerns. She monopolized the conversation, leaving no room for me to contribute or for us to explore the root cause of my health problems. This disregard for patient input is deeply disheartening.

6. Random Prescriptions: Dr. Karimirad's approach to prescribing medication is concerning, to say the least. Rather than tailoring the treatment to address my specific health issues, she seemingly dispenses generic medicines that may or may not be relevant to my condition. This careless approach undermines the effectiveness and safety of the treatment.

7. Profit-Driven Practices: It is distressing to suspect that Dr. Karimirad prioritizes her financial gains over the well-being of her patients. The impression I get is that she seeks to maximize the number of patients she sees, potentially to increase her income from insurance reimbursements. This profit-driven mindset further erodes trust and confidence in her abilities as a healthcare provider.

In conclusion, my experiences with Dr. Helen Karimirad have been deeply unsatisfactory and even distressing. Her lack of follow-up, insufficient time and attention, unprofessional behavior, bullying tendencies, failure to listen, arbitrary prescriptions, and profit-driven practices are all serious concerns that warrant caution for anyone considering her services. I strongly advise seeking an alternative healthcare provider who genuinely cares about patient well-being and respects their rights as individuals.

My wife Somayeh and I have been her patient since 2014. We have been always well treated and satisfied with her recommendation and treatments. From diagnosing to referring, she always put her patients in priority. It's really heartwarming to have such a caring family doctor. We have and will recommend her to all of our friends in North Shore area and beyond! Thank you Dr. Helen
