After a 9 hour wait, I got to see the Doctor (she was working solo on a hectic monday so understandable).
PROS: Dr was brilliant, down to Earth, & not pushy. Door greeter was great & seemed to really enjoy doing his thing. Volunteer snack bearer (yes, SNACKS!) I was overjoyed to be offered anything - 9hrs is a long time without food.

CONS: After the Doctor covered my wound in glue saying "Make sure its fully dry before touching anything", a nurse/helper (tall slender white lady w/ dark blonde/light brown hair) came in to cover it in a bandaid - I mentioned it might not be dry ("she said it PROBABLY is"). Then put a bandaid on it - opened 1st bandaid without gloves & droppd it onto the floor (luckily she tossed it into the trash & started over). I asked her to be gentle......she pushed the giant bandaid hard into my wound for about 10-20 seconds. When I looked at it, she had covered part of my open wound with the STICKY part of the bandaid. When I mentioned it, she just smiled & left!
(This was yesterday - the sticky part has been pulling at my wound all night & morning making it sting & throb more than it should!) 😡😡😡 Will likely become infected due to her negligence.

Port Moody's popular Eagle Ridge hospital. A well kept and clean hospital serving us in the area. Much loved and serviced by friendly and helpful staff. Expect pay parking and waiting time.

One of the worst hospitals to go to if you’re in need of urgent care or an emergency.

We waited over 12 hours in the ER without seeing a doctor, and even after all that time, the staff still said they couldn’t tell us when we might be seen. My mother had a head injury and was in pain the entire time and we eventually had to transfer her to another hospital just to get proper care.

Beyond the wait time, the staff were incredibly rude. Any time a patient or family member asked a question or expressed concern, security was immediately called, especially by the nurse in charge, “Phil” or “Philip,” who handled situations with zero empathy.

If you care about your health or your loved ones, please avoid this hospital. No one deserves to be treated like this when they’re already vulnerable.

You wait extremely long hours to see an ER specialist and he is recommending you OTC medication (Tylenol and such). A hit in the gut. The lowest dosage possible so you would still be in pain. Why go there then? Do a Google search and go buy some OTC stuff from the pharmacy or ask the pharmacist. It can be more helpful then the Eagle Ridge specialists.

Years ago I accidentally shot some nails into my hand. At work. Waited 4-5 hours (good times) with the nails in my hand until someone looked at them and extracted them. This is the kind of care that you can get there.

Truth hurts, I know.

This emergency room is a complete disaster! Had to wait 7 HOURS on a Thursday just to see a doctor—absolutely unacceptable! The staff couldn’t care less, showing zero urgency or compassion. I watched multiple patients give up and leave because they couldn’t afford to waste any more time waiting! This place is a joke—completely incompetent and disgraceful!

If I could give zero stars I would. Ectopic pregnancy with risk of sudden worsening and bleeding out. I was waiting 8 hours for a doctor to order an ultrasound when a Fraser health urgent care doctor had already seen me today and said to go to the ER to get a quick ultrasound. After 5 hours got a room where they apologized for only having one doctor on shift that night. If there is only 1 doctor and someone has seen an urgent care doctor maybe just give them the ultrasound. I told 5 different people at Fraser health my story over 24 hours and still didn't get the care I needed. I decided just to go home and take my chances bleeding out. Don't go here. Anywhere else. They fire doctors who speak out about the condition too. I hear the lines in whistler are shorter well worth the drive.

I want to express my appreciation to all staff, especially the two amazing nurses Marcy and Sandy. Sandy is very friendly and fun to chat with, made me less anxious about my surgery that was happening soon. I met Marcy after the operation, feeling extremely dizzy and nauseous that I barely could recognize my own husband. However, her professionalism and kindness was everything to me. Thank you!
