Gibsons Medical Clinic

Was told because I don't have a family doctor there, that I can't make an appointment in advance! Really!? Who has a family doctor these days? I have to hopefully make an appointment the morning of and then explain to my work or rearrange my day to accommodate. I don't see the issue with making an appointment in advance. Please explain this logic?

Not a great situation. Reception staff refuse to answer any questions, even on paper work THEY are giving you. You have to run back and forth picking up and delivering blood work forms and taking it to the lab...which is in the same parking lot! I guess they don't know how to use email and would rather let the patient do all the work. The typical response from both Dr. Lee and reception is "I don't know". Don't expect any dudillgence here! ?

What unfortunate care I had today at the medical center, coming home crying because I didn't understand anything the doctor was saying, having asked for help with the translator and nothing, it's very frustrating. I was wasting my time. Thank you for nothing, I hope you don't have to happen the same thing when you go to another country where your language is difficult. I was seen at 3:45. I hope you let the doctor know about my complaint and I hope to never see him again. I don't remember his name.

I called on a Friday morning and schedualed a tele health appointment for 2:30. Never received the call. I tried calling to ask if I was still able to talk to a Dr and the phones were off. There was a generic message and then nothing. Today is Saturday and they are closed. I wasted a day waiting on them and they couldnt be bothered to pick up the phone and inform me they weren’t able to help. While I understand the healthcare crisis we’re in, a quick call out of courtesy or at least answering the phone during office hours is not too much to ask for in any industry.

We are visiting from out of town and our toddler developed a croup-y sounding cough. We phoned in the morning and got lucky with a canceled appointment in the early afternoon. The reception staff was kind, Dr. Murphy was thorough, and we were so grateful to be seen on short notice. Thank you, Gibsons Medical Clinic!

I’ve been Dr. Hourigan’s patient since I was a child. He is responsive, understanding, and explains everything clearly. He has always allowed me time to fully explain my problems, and has always given me thoughtful responses and treatment plans. When I’m interested in medications, he is always open to discussing options. If I have a health problem, he helps to book me in person to talk further about it. I’m truly very grateful. Along with this, the staff at the clinic have always been lovely towards me. Whether it be helping me make appointments, moving things around so I can come in sooner, or just being warm when I come for my visits, I’m always happy to see them.

Had a phone appointment today to get a referral to go back to a sleep doctor that I have seen already just been a few years, needs to be updated. Was told I could not go back and had to go to UBC after explaining I could not do that I was pretty much told that because I’m “FAT” I would not get anything else. I’m sick and tired of this place the doctors here should be ashamed of their actions. Every time I come here I leave feeling bad about myself and I don’t get what I need.

Went in for a mere Doctors note and they would not accept me. What kind of medical clinic refuses to help people with medical issues. The receptionist was also very unfriendly like I was wasting her time just being there. She told me to go back to the emergency at Sechelt Hospital and ask the doctor that originally seen me and get a note from him. . . What the heck? Like he doesnt have more important things to do than you.
