Hope For Freedom has truly saved my life. I found the society at my lowest.. I was in a place that I didn't have much access to phones, but they always answered my call. They helped me find a new way of living. Between my housemates to the staff, to the facilitators they all loved me until I could learn to love myself. They are faith based but they don't push any beliefs on you they allow you to find your faith on your timing and when you are ready. The women's house has had a huge impact on my recovery and I'm forever grateful.

I came to Hope for freedom, for help with my addiction, in July of 2024. Right from the start, I was welcomed with open arms and I immediately felt comfortable. Their program is based on the 12 steps, developing spiritual health and an 8 week, in depth core group, that is amazing. They facilitated me getting to Kelowna, to see my dad, before his passing. All the while, supporting me through the grief, without using drugs or alcohol. The healing I have received upon completing the program has been more than I expected. I highly recommend Hope for freedom to anyone looking to find recovery. I love this place and you will too.

After several years of battling addiction I heard of Hope For Freedom Society. I knew I was running out of chances and was interested in HFFS, as it was both 12-step and Christian based.
I had a great experience with HFFS and feel blessed to have saved my life here!
The staff and facilitators are GREAT and really love what they do, which shows. I would recommend HFFS to any woman who is looking to heal, build a life and find happiness in herself.
This house is where I discovered that I CAN find recovery and learn how to live!
I am truly grateful Hope For Freedom Society for guiding me to this new way of life.

Not a treatment centre but “recovery home.” Doesn’t understand that slips are a part of recovery. The whole one slip and you are out is from an addiction model from 20 years ago. If they don’t understand the nature of addiction, how can they treat i? This “treatment centre” isn’t accredited for a reason. As a Registered Social Worker working in addictions, I would not recommend this program.

Hope For Freedom Society saves the lives of hundreds of Addicts every year. I came to Glory House for Women 15 years ago next month & it changed my life & I have not looked back. I have worked for the Society for the last 14 years and have had the opportunity to help other addicts wanting to stay clean & have a better life. This is a gift to see people get their lives back & grow to become successful & happy. The society not only helps the suffering addict it works with & supports family members as well. Great place to come & get help & support.

*** Wendy at Glory House ***

I have had a terrible experience with this specific house. I’ve had a family member call in about 3-4 weeks ago to be put on the waiting list for help with addiction. We were told it would take 1 week to 1 month to get in and had to keep calling in daily to keep our spot. They called in everyday and told them about the medical issues they had from the very first phone call. Eventually after a month had passed, we asked how much longer the waitlist would be and we were told the family member would no longer be accepted because of the “unique” medicinal issues. I called in myself on behalf of the family member to ask how they can discriminate against a health condition, to ask why we were kept on the list for 3-4 weeks and not told no from the very start, to ask what our other options were as we felt completely helpless at this point. Wendy runs the Glory house and makes the decisions. When I phoned and talked to her, I recorded the call. She was rude, dismissive, kept interrupting me and cutting me off, and eventually hung up on me. I called back again, and she threatened to phone the police on me for absolutely no reason just because I was asking for help. The other girls who answered the phone at glory house were wonderful but Wendy should be fired. I sent in a complaint and had Dennis phone me about the situation. Nothing really came out of it other than I was told they have a “high stress job”. I have sent in the video and the complaint to global news. I am leaving a review here, I will leave a review on the better business bureau and I will be forwarding a complaint to the city. This is sickening of how Wendy works in a recovery house and talks to people like she does. Calling a recovery house should be a welcoming environment. Not yelled at. I will not stop until she is removed from the house. I do not want this happening to anyone else looking for help with recovery and having to deal with her and feeling helpless. This is my voice to help others and I pray that it does.

I attended Hope for Freedoms Glory House back in 2011, then again in 2019. I intend to return for a refresher course anyday now. It has been my experience, that my alcoholism was cured, but life happened anyways and addictive behaviours continued. I believe God can solve anything and wants to. So i put my faith in Him, and the goid people at Hope for Freedom. It works, if You work it.

I would just like to thank HFFS for poviding me a safe place to recover, meeting me with open arms and understanding. My experience from day one until now is that the Society is filled with caring, compassionate and loving indivuduals that work with you with your best interests at heart. I was in a bad way and needed structure however was also blessed with hope and faith which reignited my passion for Christ, recognizing again that who I am now, as I am is enough. Growth as a Christian and in the fellowship is my testimony, with their guidance it has also blessed my family with healing and restoration. Working on myself in a safe place I am now able to apply the 12 steps to my life and apply the spuritual principles in all area's of my life reflecting a healthy image for my wife, children and others that are fighting for life. If you are desperate for change and are in need of genuine help I highly recommend HFFS because they will lead you to self discovery, healing for positive change and I truly believe a desire to stay that way. Your worth every effort, God bless.
