I’m writing this review to share a personal experience that left me deeply disappointed, especially since I’ve always supported local thrift stores.

The store promotes a "first comment" rule for claiming items, but in my case, they did not honor it despite the absence of any clearly posted guidelines about where or how comments should be made. When I raised the issue, it felt like the staff dismissed it without even checking. I hope the store revisits how it applies its own policies to ensure fairness to all customers.

Additionally, I witnessed the store accept a $30 donation from a group of very young girls. While charitable giving is admirable, I found it disheartening. A well-established organization like this should be investing in and uplifting young entrepreneurs, not accepting donations from them. That moment could have been an opportunity to show leadership and community support.

Lastly, I want to respectfully point out that open, honest reviews are essential to community trust. Businesses should embrace feedback not attempt to manage it through removals. I am sharing this because I believe in transparency and want others to have a clear understanding of how things are handled here.

There are many other thrift shops and small businesses in our community that operate with care, fairness, and true support for those around them. I encourage others to consider those options.

This place is good. I can remember sometimes during COVID when we wernt allowed inside because they thought some of the people in our group where not over the age limit or something allowed in the store... was very upsetting the store is also dirty sometimes. the lines are also HUGE to get into this store.

My wife and 4 kids were about to enter the store when the woman at the door told us to stop. She repeated herself a couple of times even though we had stopped moving towards the door. Then, with no explanation she leaves the door and heads inside. After a few other people walk in the store without issue, I decided to take the kids down the street to wait for my wife, who decided to enter the store without getting “permission”. Afterwards, as we waited, I noticed everyone else who arrived was able to enter the store unhindered by the woman who was once again standing at the front door.

I’m not sure if it was a capacity issue or not, but with no reason given it was made clear that I and my kids were not welcome to enter the premises.

Thanks so much for the friendly and extremely helpful staff member who went out of her way to help my gf when she forgot her glasses 5 hours away. She would post herself, but she also forgot her phone. 😉

Always a place that I must stop at every time I go to invermere. It's definitely one of my favourites thrift shops in the whole world.
I suggest if you're going in the morning get there early cuz there's always a lineup.
