I asked friends on social media where to go to get a detail eye exam. The only reason this is not 5 start is due to the expensive pricing of the frames in-store but 'you pay for what you get'!
Due to my history, I have had bad experience with optometrist felling rushed during the exam and never get the best result for me...
I was recommended to see and optometrist by the name of Dr. Mitchell Bunn at Iris Courtenay. There was a small hiccup with my original appointment and we had to reschedule. When I called to book, I asked for extended time to make sure we were not rush trying to complete my exam. My experience with Dr. Bunn was great! I felt like he took extra time explaining everything about the health of my eyes and gave me extra time to adjust my eyes during the test. He even asked the optician to join us in the exam room to discuss how to set-up my prescription with my lenses. Something I never withness in my 45 years+ of wearing glasses!!
Now, I do not have my glasses yet and don't know how they will turn out but I definitely feel positive about getting the best result this time around. I suffered from concussions through the years and have lost my employment due to these injuries and it was nice to be heard.
Thank you for the great work and understanding my needs as a customer!!

Great service, friendly people. We were visiting Courtenay and my husband accidentally stepped on his glasses. We dropped in and were able to get his glasses repaired in less than 15 minutes and there was no charge. They were rock stars ⭐️ Thank you so much. 👍🏼

Dr. Bunn and the staff at Iris were fantastic. The exam was efficient and comprehensive, Dr. Bunn provided a very thorough explanation of my eye health and was very pleasant to speak with.

Disappointed! My husband and I drove down from Campbell River to see Iris Courtenay’s store collection. We both required glasses and we spent about an hour in the store. Primarily focused on my husband trying different styles of glasses and taking photos of our picks. The technician who helped us was very helpful and kind. My husband gave our personal details to the technician to save his selections on his existing file. His last pair of glasses were purchased at this store. As we were getting ready to leave I proceeded to put my glasses back into my purse. At that moment another sales associate working in the store walked up to me and informed me to take my glasses out of my purse to ensure I did not steal them. I was shocked and insulted by this accusation. I was frustrated by her inability to analyze that situation appropriately. Through my discussion with her she ensured that she did not call me a criminal however if you walk up to me and ask if my glasses in my purse are not stollen then you whole heartedly are insinuating criminal behaviour . Clearly we will no longer support this store and we will save our time and money to shop elsewhere. An absolute damper to our day.

Wonderful spot! The entire team was helpful and very knowledgeable. I don’t remember the name of the lady who helped me pick out my frames, but she found me my perfect glasses within a few try-ons; she just knew what would suit my face and was spot on! Thanks for all the help.
