Called to inquire about services & help navigating the healthcare system after the ER doctor at the jubilee failed to fax medical forms correctly for referrals.

When I spoke over the phone with the operator, they did not announce themselves and when I wasn't even finished trying to get the information out, they interrupted & went on a long speech on referring me to go ELSEWHERE because they will not have a doctor on staff for a week. After her long speech & interrupting me multiple times, I simply said "thank you" and waited for her to hang up.

I do not understand why she went on a long speech, not allowing me to get a word in while they were telling me to go to different locations that I am already aware of thanks to the internet. I called the james bay clinic as it was closest & most convenient for me to plan my day around.

This has unfortunately put a further poor taste in my mouth, I find myself asking if they would have treated me the same way if I was family member or friend to them.

With that all said, the healthcare staff at this location are amazing & worthy of applause to no end. I just wish the person on the phone could have been a bit more oriented to assisting with getting care & answers instead of immediately heavily pushing me to going to any of the other locations that they listed off.

Thankfully I was able to contact another service who was able to not only refer me but also transfer calls & touch base on their end to ensure I got what I needed.

Edit: Called back on another day & unfortunately yet again the staff answering the phone are quite rude & short with giving information. It feels as if they are going through the motions of repeating a long speech so that they do not have to answer questions or any sort of follow up.

I understand that working in healthcare can be challenging & difficult, but please treat people with same respect & courtesy that you would hope for yourself, especially when it comes to healthcare.

Everyone from the front desk, the nurse, and the doctor were extremely helpful, compassionate, kind, and professional. I felt heard and cared for and respected.

I called the clinic yesterday, and they instructed me to call back this morning at 8:30 am. I did as advised and was sixth in the queue. After being on hold for over 30 minutes, the agent informed me that they were fully booked.

My son is unwell and urgently needs to see a doctor. This level of service is unacceptable. Clinics are supposed to provide care and support, not create additional stress for people already in difficult situations. This system needs serious improvement to better serve the community.

Thank you to all the staff at this clinic (receptionists, nurse and doctor) for their excellent care today. Everyone was patient and friendly. I was able to get an appointment to see a doctor later in the evening due to a rare cancellation. I am here on vacation from Ontario and while I am flying home on Saturday, my situation could not wait. Everything thankfully fell into place for me to get a resolution with only a minor disruption to my vacation. An amazing clinic! I can't thank them enough.

Having recently moved to the Island I was super unsure about anything medical, but the ladies at James Bay Centre were so kind and helpful. The nurse that checked me out was probably one of the kindest nurses who've ever dealt with me! Its nice to know when you're sick and feeling bad, there are people out there who make you feel better physically and mentally. <3

I went there to get my burn wound checked. Got there before 8:30am and was able to book a same-day appointment with an RN. Everyone I talked to was so kind and polite.
Sure there was some wait, and it seemed hard to see a doctor at this clinic as the place is mostly run by RNs. But my overall visit was really pleasant one and they were able to provide all the information and care I needed.

It is the best primary care centre in Victoria. I went in with lots of pain and came out smiling. Dr. Mike and RN Vicky were very helpful, cheerful, patient and professional.Thank you and lots of blessings!! You are making an impact on the lives of so many people.
