I am a retired nurse who relocated to acreage in the Cariboo. I have two now grown daughters and was a single mum with both daughters. I did not receive or ask for child support as I came from the generation that you take care of your own and work for your money. I worked 16 hour nights - slept for 4 hours - then worked 12 hour nights. I supported my family. I retired @ age 56 - I ran my farm by myself and took my own fire wood down with my chain saw. I was never sickly in my life. One year after retirement I was outside throwing a ball for my youngest german shepherd (of which I have 4 german shepherds). The ball throwing was going well -until my right arm felt like a steel spike had been driven through it and I could not move my arm away from my body. I came in with my dogs and my body began to seize up with immobility and excruciating pain. I tossed myself on the bed....I have never ever felt so much pain in my life not even through 16 hours of hard labor with my eldest daughter. My dogs sensed there was something wrong and wanted to go out 5 times - 5 times I literally crawled on my knees and elbows as my hands were burning with pain. My stepdad took me to the local hospital for an xray as I thought I had a fracture in my arm and was concerned that the circulation was being cut off from my arm to my hand.....the tech had to help me take my shirt off etc....the xray showed nothing....I wasted from 106lbs to 96lbs within a week. My gp put me on medications and a referral to Dr. Navratil in Kamloops. Not almost three years later I am able to function with the care and medications that Dr. Navratil has provided me....I have my life back....Dr. Navratil is a miracle worker in my life. He saved me.....diagnosis - extremely bad case of RA.....Thank you Dr. Navratil - pleasant brilliant man.....as well his receptionist is such a nice gal - helpful - personable and kind.....
