This is a long overdue review, I can't believe I didn't think to write it until now. I was actually with other midwives through my pregnancy and due to a series of unfortunate events (ie being diverted not once but several times) I wound up at a hospital where my original midwives did not have privileges, and so the very first time I met Sommer was when I was 6cm dilated with my first little one. Let me tell you how freaked out I was in not knowing the team going in- but after meeting Sommer she immediately put me at ease and guided me through the most difficult and transformative experience of my life with such grace. Her warmth, kindness, support, and skill were all incredible. I can't say enough good things about New West Community Midwives. You will truly be in such good hands here.

The best experience with these two wonderful women!
Pregnancy was great with Abby and Sommer. Every single time you meet with them you are so cared for and helped. They start off each clinic with asking me if I have any questions or worries. This is my favorite because I know I can always get whatever’s worrying me off my chest and then go on with whatever they have planned.
Labour and delivery was also great with them. I felt empowered, cared for, and safe the whole time with Abby. She was a wonderful advocate who knew exactly what my body and my baby needed and when.
Postpartum visits are so cool too! They know how to care for me and baby so well.

When I was searching for a midwife when I first found out I was pregnant, I picked New West Community Midwives based on their reviews. They did not disappoint and were even better than I could have imagined!

This was my first pregnancy and it was a great experience from beginning to end, thanks to both Abby and Sommer. Due to COVID-19, my appointments alternated between in clinic and phone visits, however, every appointment left me feeling well informed about the decisions I had to make and overall very excited. The appointments were never rushed, and they both took the time to fully answer any questions I had, and to explain each step of the pregnancy. I was given all of my appointments ahead of time, and they were always very quick to respond if and when I needed to make a change.

Abby’s expertise during labour and delivery provided me with a very pleasant birthing experience, and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about that day. I wanted to do things naturally and as unmedicated as possible, and Abby helped make this possible. Abby’s words of encouragement and her ability to coach me through the pushing stage, made me feel completely calm and comfortable. She really helped get me through that stage quickly, and her professionalism definitely helped keep my husband at ease!

Sommer provided us with at home care during the postpartum period, which was incredible and greatly appreciated during my recovery. Our questions were answered, and our baby boy was well taken care of.

I highly recommend both Abby and Sommer! They are both extremely professional, compassionate and lovely people to be around, and will help make your pregnancy and postpartum care a wonderful experience.

Sommer and Abby provided amazing care for our family starting from day one. They are both very attentive and you know that they care.

Sommer attended our birth and was AMAZING, we had a very long labour and she was super supportive and had my back when the hospital wanted to send me back home for the second time.

Abby was doing most of our postpartum care and was always ready to answer all our questions.
