After making the post noted below, I received a reply from Jaimie at Optomeyes asking that I call her, as these kind of issues are not their practice.

After speaking with Jaimie and her reviewing my mom's file, they are redoing the lenses and will courier them to my Mom to have put in, as she no longer resides in Powell River.

It's saddens me that my mother no longer lives there so is unable to patronize this great company! Kudos to you for making it right!

My 86 year old Mom had her eyes examined and glasses made by Optomeyes. When she went back in January, for her annual check up, she was told her lenses were made incorrectly. However, when she inquired about having them fixed she was told her warranty had expired and it would cost her $300.00. I would have thought when the fault was with the original prescription/lenses, they would have covered this cost to fix their error, as she is a senior on a very limited income and the glasses were just slightly older than 1 year.

All the staff were friendly and fun. The equipment is new so that seemed to provide a more comfortable exam. Dr. Hennenfent won my complete confidence. It was by far the most pleasant optometrist exam I've ever had in Powell River.

I’ve been having trouble with reading fine print and such. I went in to have my eyes examined for the first time in my memory. Alll the staff were pleasant, professional, and answered all my questions. The space is bright and clean. The equipment is state of the art. All my options were explained and I chose a frame that suited me, and much better quality than drugstore readers. I look forward to trying my new glasses!

My husband and I had decided to call this optometrist after having our appointment cancelled at another office, only to wait another 2 months for another. We are so happy that we did. Melanie was amazing, knowledgeable and very forthcoming .She found a problem with my husband's eyes and it was taken care of immediately. AMAZING experience! Dr. Melanie Hennenfent is incredibly knowledgeable. I had an issue 3 years ago that none of my drs could figure out and she identified it as soon as I explained it. I also suffer from dry eyes and she gave me options other than the standard eye drops. Very professional environment and a great assortment of lenses! Highly recommend!

From customer service, patient care, the facility to efficiency, I give Powell River Optomeyes Eye Care a top 5 Star experience for my recent eye examination as well as contact lens purchase. Appointment was easily accessible, with minimal wait time onsite. Facility there was clean; equipment was current and effective. The team--from tech/front desk: Emma, office manager: Jaimie, to Dr. Melanie Hennenfent--all exhibited courtesy, care, and kindness toward the customer/patient. While Emma was multi-tasking--minding the front desk as well as prepping me for the eye examination--overall atmosphere in the office was clockwork like smooth and calm. Aside from being down-to-earth and welcoming friendly, The doc: Melanie's diagnostic skill was attune to my need. We had a really good experience here - my wife and I both went for a check up, everyone was great , reception, assistants, and Dr. Hennenfent. My wife has Alzheimer’s and has a hard time answering questions and following instructions- everyone was helpful and patient. My wife got a new prescription for her glasses, and is now seeing better than she has for a long time.
