Note to self: Have a plan. My husband and I were on a road trip with our dog and this was literally the last pet friendly room left in town. Our options were this or our car or drive to Terrace. ||It smells like grandma’s cabin. Dampness and maybe mothballs? The furniture was pieced together with scraps of plywood presumably after it had been broken. The floors and ceilings slant. The tiles in the bathroom are loose. The bathroom window overlooks plywood and cables. The lamps are crooked. There is both a radiator and a heater in the room. Not sure which to use. The walls are painted wallboard and you can hear your neighbours clear as day. The door lock looks like a handcuff? There are exposed wires and outlets that your plugs just fall out of. The windows in the door are painted and chipped all at the same time. It was very difficult to find anything on TV as most of the channels were snowy and one of them was a grainy still of shot glasses? The light fixture on the ceiling is an LED nightmare that will burn your retinas if you turn it on. The outside of the hotel has a stained chair and table with a bucket on it and a rusty old freezer right beside it. I’m not sure Norman Bates would even grace these rooms. Our advice is to plan better before you come here and always read reviews. Always.

This hotel is disgustingly dirty, inside of bedspread had dried snot on it ; the room smelt old wet stinky socks. The whole room had dust and dirt everywhere. The coffee pot was dirty and sticky inside and out the filter basket looked like it had never been washed. There was old dirt in all the counters. The reservation front desk had broken things piled around with dust every where. BBQ for guests had dirty utensils laying on top. We cut our stay short and took loss on the room. STAY AWAY.

Rooms were leaking and tried to put one of our guys in a room that already had a guest in it.

The wonderful women of the Prince Rupert community recommended that I stay here when the ferry to Haida Gwaii was cancelled with short notice. Amid the chaos, I came to this motel and was greeted by a lovely lady who gave me a quick tour of the property and then I found my new temporary home away from home! Great place for long or short term stays with both full kitchen or kitchenette options, laundry facilities on site. Great location and within fair walking distance (seconds if driving) to all amenities and attractions. Located next to a beautiful walking/biking trail and creek. The room is CLEAN and the bed is topped with nova form for the ambient of sleeping on a cloud which is the perfect theme of the Prince Rupert environment. Very warm and inviting casual comfort for people who love the history and cultural surroundings of the northern BC coast.

When I arrived to check in, there was no one there at the office and had to wait over half an hour to get a room (I was in a hurry as I was there for work) the room I had was very poorly maintained. The kitchen sink was completely 100% clogged, the kitchen window was dusty and grimy, the doorknob to my room was barely functional as it wasn’t attached to the door, and I found what looked like an old piece of chicken tender under one of the beds along with other garbage. I DO NOT recommend this motel. I wound up looking for somewhere else to stay while working in Prince Rupert

I thought for me and my dog this pace be cheaper for my trailer and went in to book and she said you look like you never shower and I told her I just came home from work and she said by the way we don't want any ugly looking trailer here and falling apart and I said my trailer is good shape and she said I have to pay 500 now and on the next pay I have to pay 1,000 for me and my dog because she said I'm charging you for 2 people

Very reasonable for the amount of time that I stayed there with my 2 sons. Friendly owners and staff, clean and well kept rooms. Quick with maintenance when needed. Stayed for 7 months while looking for permanent housing, (city has had a rental shortage during this time, many renovations happening).

I really liked the Parkside Resort Motel. It is a family run business. I liked the friendliness of everyone. People sat outside talking and visiting (not late enough to keep us awake). It was like going into a family reunion where everyone welcomes everyone else. We took advantage of their policy of allowing us to leave our car there for a small fee while we took the Alaska Ferry to Juneau. Our car was just as we left it. I appreciated the note on the TV channels list telling us which were the movie channels. Someone else might be bothered that all the rooms were not exactly alike. The ceiling in our room was not textured sheetrock. It was stained wood. That made it more unique to us. I liked that the shower curtain smelled of bleach. It was next door to a McDonald's so that we could run over for breakfast easily. Trying to find the driveway was the only drawback. We could see the motel sign as we drove into Prince Rupert, but to get to the driveway for it, we had to make a second try. The driveway is not on the main highway. We had to turn on the street by the McDonald's and drive past the McDonald's to see the Parkside sign pointing us to the correct driveway. Because it was quite cool each night we were there, we only used the heater. There might have been an air conditioner, but I did not notice.
