My wife went to the hospital for an ultrasound. The technician was very unfriendly and impersonal. I, as her husband, was not allowed into the room until the last few minutes. And she said nothing to us about our baby. She didn’t seem very experienced and couldn’t find the gender. She seemed to have a hard time looking in the right angles and at the right locations. She spent a lot of time looking at the head but hardly any time looking for the gender. I had to stand at the foot of the bed in the corner and couldn’t really comfort my wife.

Was in the ER for 8 hours, had an ultrasound on my leg and the doctor told me I need an urgent operation. She said she would call me in 2 days with an update. A week later and I have heard nothing! I’ve called the hospital multiple times, been bounced around different departments to which they all have the same response “sorry I can’t help you with that”
Is this how they treat patients who need an urgent operation? Forgotten and ignored. Such a disgrace

4 hours of wait time, but that's understandable being as busy as they are. My needs weren't very immediate and probably could have been handled at urgent care. Even so the nurses and doctors were extremely friendly and courteous. Took them a while to get to me but I get it. I'm not ordering a big mac I'm asking someone who went to 8 years of medical school (minimum) to look in my ear. Once you get past the wait times that are plaguing the whole system, the hospital gets a 10/10. Would go again (hopefully I won't have to but I'm a clutz)

First time ever leaving a review not only because of a 5 hour wait today, but also because a resident (becoming a doctor), forgot to check on me and update me regarding the result of my xray. I waited about 2 hrs or so for the result, and thought I’d check in with one of the nurse. Turns out, the doctor forgot about me and I wasn’t even on the system. Glad that 1 nurse helped me, and another doctor came to check on me. They were very nice.

Right from the moment I walked into admitting and then sent to pre op, then OR I was looked after with the utmost care. Upon awakening in recovery, after my Surgery the nurses took excellent care and observation of me while awaiting for a bed on 6 south. Being tranferred to 6 south the Charge nurse Tammy and both the day shift and night shift nurses gave me excellent care and attention. (Sara, Navi, Diane and Dawn and Lucy on night shift.) (And Lucy you were right! Lol) Also a big thank you to Dr. Ottem, who did the operation, and his whole team in the OR.

Absolutely terrible experience at Royal Inland Hospital’s emergency department. I waited over 6 hours in extreme pain, and during that entire time, the staff were incredibly rude and dismissive. There was no communication about wait times, no empathy, and no sense of urgency whatsoever.

I understand that hospitals can be busy, but the lack of basic courtesy and transparency made an already painful situation much worse. No one checked in, no updates were provided, and any questions were met with cold, uninterested responses. It felt like they just didn’t care.

I wouldn’t wish this kind of experience on anyone. If you have another option, go somewhere else.

JUNE 16, 2025 I arrived at 3:43 p.m. I was checked in expeditiously and advised to go to Unit 4 in Emergency to wait to be seen by a doctor. I sat in Unit 4 for over 2 hrs and no one came by to take to me one of the examination rooms to further wait for a doctor. At 6 pm I decided to ask one of the nurses where I was on the list. She advised me that I was in the wrong Unit - I should have been in Unit 3 irrespective of the fact that I was told by 2 staff to be in Unit 4. I subsequently moved to Unit 3 and was told there were 4 names ahead of me to be called into an examination waiting room. At 7:45 p.m. I noticed the 5 people who were waiting in both sets of unit examination rooms were not seen in over 45 mins. At 8 p.m. still waiting to be called into an examination room for what I am sure would be another Hour wait, I decided to check myself out. A 4 hr wait, to wait another how many hours? The check out nurse in Unit 3 advised me that they were severely understaffed and apologized profusely.

Pathetic does not even begin to set out my opinion of this hospital.
