I just had surgery and from the moment I walked into admitting through to surgical intake into the OR and finally onto 7 North the people I had interacting with me and caring for me was beyond any other care I have ever experienced. These people are genuinely caring there is a skip in their step they are smiling and engaging always available to help and support all hours of their work day . Whitney Willow Charlie Nooshin Grace John Katie with all of of me you truly are the best of what health care standards should be. Thank you so very much for making my stay such a positive experience 💕🙌

I was sent for urgent ultrasound, had appendicitis & laprascopic surgery following. I found all staff interactions were kind, compassionate, knowledgeable & caring. If they didn’t know, they said that. I knew what to expect. Dr. tang who handled my surgery was excellent, and the anesthesiologist did a thorough explanation of what would happen. The nurses on 3N & operating room ones were all kind, helpful & assisted in any way they could. For a deteriorating medical system in this country, as I saw with my dad’s care in Ontario (retired Dr) this was my first general anaesthetic & surgery, and it was 5 Star, Thank you RJH.

정말 개선이 필요한 캐나다 의료 시스템입니다. 환자 대기 명댠을 관리하는 사람도 존재하지 읺아서 간호사에게 언제 들어가는지 물어봐야하고..간호사는 난 모른다가 답입니다..이곳만의 문제가 아니라 캐나다 의료 체계 자체 문제인듯합니다. ,6살 딸 x-ray 찍는데 5시간을 기다리고 교대 시간이니까 한시간 더 기라리라고 하고 1시간 반을 기다려서 x-ray 찍고...결과 듣는 것까지 더 기다렸습니다. 새벽 1시에 가서 아침 8시에 귀가 했습니다..신이여 감사합니다 general hospital 에서 와이프 유산 징후가 있어 waiting room에서 9시간 기다리다 유산으로 끝난 끔찍한 기억 보단 뻐르게 귀가 할수 있었습니다. 그래도 오전 근무 간호사 분들과 여의사분은 general hospital 직원분들 보단 친철했습니다
Canada’s healthcare system is in urgent need of reform. At the facility we visited, there was no one managing the patient queue, which left us repeatedly asking nurses when we would be seen—only to be told, “I don’t know.” Unfortunately, this does not appear to be an isolated issue, but rather a reflection of broader systemic problems within the Canadian healthcare system.

We waited five hours for my six-year-old daughter to receive an X-ray. We were then informed that, due to a staff shift change, we would need to wait an additional hour. Ultimately, the X-ray was done after another hour and a half of waiting, followed by even more time to receive the results. We arrived at the hospital at 1:00 a.m. and did not return home until 8:00 a.m.

Despite the long and exhausting experience, I am grateful that we were able to return home with a diagnosis—something that was not the case during a prior traumatic visit to General Hospital. On that occasion, my wife exhibited signs of a miscarriage but was forced to wait in the waiting room for nine hours, ultimately resulting in a miscarriage.

That said, I would like to acknowledge that the morning shift nurses and the female physician during our recent visit were noticeably more courteous and compassionate than the staff we encountered at General Hospital.

I was treated by doctor Hadley in the ER today. He was one of the most genuine and empathetic drs/nurse that I’ve seen. He made me feel heard and cared for. He was able to ease my mind and provided a sense of relief that I have not had in a long time. The whole team there were really great and I really appreciated the care that they al provided.

Outstanding staff with the exception of a student nurse on the 7th floor whose response to a patient in a sudden moment of excruciating pain in front of her was to shrug, say, "I'm not taking care of him," and turn away. While it was not her responsibility to deal with the issue, her attitude speaks to the absence of qualities that every other staff member on the floor demostrate regularly. I suspect this is not her calling.

I came in for a mastitis along with body aches. As I was explaining it to Dr. Jamieson G Ward when the pain started and I mentioned that I co-sleep with my 16 month old, he gave me unsolicited advice, "you know we recommend against that". Thank you, but no thank you Dr. Ward, stay in your lane. I didn't ask for your opinion in that department.
Dr. Macdonald chimed in after and she said "I co-sleep with my 20 month old sometimes, the cuddles are great". Thank you for your bedside manners Dr. MacDonald and the compassion that you gave.

PES, Their psychiatric emergency services is filled with a bunch of heartless quacks who do not understand how to talk to or treat mentally ill people.

They constantly treat patients with confusion and exasperation for their problems, and refuse to believe they are causing meaningful suffering.

They frequent pull out the line "Well what do you expect US to do?" and will stop listening to anything you say once they have an interjection to add, and will only address that one thought without considering anything said before or after the small fraction of a longer explanation that they've clung to.

It's as if their job description is to stand around and gawk at patients like children at a zoo, and anything distracting from that is just attention seeking or trouble making.

Everyone I speak to in the community who has gone through PES says the same things. This service needs serious reforms before it's ever going to be safe and useful to anyone dealing with anything even approaching psychosis.

Everyone who works on that wing should be ashamed of themselves and/or their colleagues.

I had an urgent surgery, and I'm happy to say that the medical team at Emergency at Royal Jubilee Hospital was incredible. They were professional, attentive, and kind from the moment I arrived. They made sure I was informed and kept me calm during a stressful time. The surgery was a success, and I was able to leave the hospital feeling reassured and well-cared for within a day. The medical staff, from the surgeons to the nurses, went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and recovery. The waiting room was a huge challenge, but if you're from Victoria, you know exactly what I mean!Despite this, the care I received in the end made everything worth it. I'm truly grateful for the exceptional care and would highly recommend this facility for anyone in need of urgent medical attention. Thank you.
