I wouldn't recommend!!, they aren't honest! My first time and definately gonna be my last time. The person just counted my bottles into a container on the floor; Container wasn't on any weighing scale, No readings on the small screen, it wasn't weighed at all. He then told me $2.85 is my refund, out of shock I asked him did you weigh everything? He responded that's all you get. Also no receipt was given. Wow!
I was positive to be above $5 with the number of bottles and many of which were 1 Litre bottle. I got home and counted the coins he gave me and it even turn out to be $2.60 instead the $2.85 he said.
How did he even come up with the amount without weighing and with no readings? If they could not spare ripping you off with such an amount , you reassured to get only half of what you deserve for your big stuffs.

It is a bottle depot, what do you want? But everyone should tip these guys when they get their refund back, because it is a messy, thankless job. I do hope someone mandates hearing protectors for the poor employees. It is louder than a rock concert and they are there all day.

Total RIPOFF! First and last time I go there. I usually go to the one in Campbell, they are way more honest there. Can't believe this guys get away with ripoff. BE AWARE THEY WILL RIPYOU OFF...Do not go there!

I recently used the services of the Riel bottle depot to organise and run a bottle drive for my son's soccer team. We opted to stage out of the bottle depot itself, but they do offer the option of driving a cube truck to a location of your choosing, for the collection of empties. The staff at the depot were helpful, accommodating, and quick to provide us with guidance and assistance throughout the event. 100% recommend for your bottle drive needs.

My favourite bottle depot. It’s quick and great customer service.
Edit 07/23/25- first time I’ve been noticeably shorted here. I bring in the same sized bags and # of bags each time and left with at least $15-20 less. That’s a big discrepancy. 🥴

Each time I visit St Albert Bottle Depot I am impressed with their service!
