Forget this place all together. I use the return it express option where they count the cans and take a percentage and I might as well just put it out for city pick up. Every single time I bring the cans back I get an alert of some sort of issue with my deposit. My cans are all washed and put into the proper blue bag and stored outside in a shed. Every single time there is some sort of complaint and I’ve even started filling bags half way and they still complain. This time there was alerts now that the packing which is a clear blue bag is not acceptable, there is a fire hazard with it, and the bag is too heavy. My 4 year old helped me bring it to the truck. Clearly they don’t want to sort the cans because this is ridiculous.

Like alot of us, I had been going there for years. From the old place to the new🙂 Friendliness had always great going both ways 👍 👌 I usually come in with a full pickup load and sort them onto the blue crates for a few hours at a time. One day a worker suggested I start doing them in bags rather than the blue crates. Excellent idea, time went by faster & I took up less space 😆 LOL. One day I miss counted a bag by 8 cans & had a strip torn into me by a man I barily ever had seen there working. I was a bit shocked by his approach 😳 & well I cussed at him for being so rude and then also apologized if I had miscounted (I had plenty of returns & as far as I knew this was my first screw up/miscount). I apologized for using the f bomb and again said I have plenty of other cans I can put in to replace the ones I was short. He then wanted to ban me. I just didn't understand why it went so far. BUT I finished my bottles, got my cash and left. Have had no issues since!!! 🙃
WELL UNTIL last month. It truly had nothing to do with me personally, but it for sure had something to do with someone in there working who had an issue with BC PARKS returning their empties. Yes, I was with the person returning them & all policies/procedures were followed. They had mentioned to me before going to the depot that they are super strict with them & ban them ALL the time. It sounded so ODD. Considering all the years I have been going there. BUT THEN~~~ the next day, the bottle depot called and banned them. We are all so confused, it makes no sense.
Long read but true facts.

All the employees are absolute dog water at their jobs. What is the job description? If it’s cussing at customers and not having clear instructions the place is definitely for you ! Seriously though cussing at customer’s because there’s not 24 cans in a bin is absolutely disgusting behaviour if all you gotta do is count.. Get a grip or quit..

Most times I visit, I've had positive experiences 😌
Not when an older negative man is on shift and barks at you instead of being pleasant. Smiles go a long way!
The whole staff is rude and bullies customers. 😤

Excellent customer service! Helpful, fast and friendly. It's a sticky job but they are very good at getting everyone processed quickly so it's actually an easy task and you leave with a little more than what you arrived with. LOL!

There is a grumpy old man that works here - used to work at the depot by Rona- very rude! This time I was rude to him and the younger oriental chap said if I did that again he would ban me- so I guess I am banned- well why is his rudeness ok and when I return the favour- I am banned?

It's loud in there and dirty but it's a bottle depot, so they are doing good.
